Berlin Brandenburg main pier tested for fire protection

As already reported over the last few days, Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH today tested part of the fire protection system on the main north pier of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Four so-called hot gas smoke tests were carried out between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., whereby controlled fires were lit on different levels of the terminal.

The tests appear to have been successful. Despite simulated power cuts, the smoke did not pass into other floors and could be dissipated safely. The measurement results obtained will now be subjected to a detailed analysis and evaluation over the next few weeks.
