I'm truly sorry about your allergy problems, Jacque, but you shoud understand you are a tiny minority. What will you do at BRU when you go to the restrooms/toilets and smell tobacco ? Because this is what people do at "smoke-free" airports, they go to the toilets to smoke. At BRU very often you can smell tobacco in the toilets, at least this is my experience. So, an airport which is smoke-free in theory is not smoke-free in practice unless you make sure not to use the toilets. As a non smoker, I am totally in favor of the "smoking lounges" as they exist, e.g. in FRA,MUC and ZRH. They let people smoke in a small area with practically no inconvenience to the vast majority of travellers and consequently these smokers behave in a less aggressive way to fellow passengers and cabin crew.
