35.000 feet-spotting will be made easier thanks to Emirates

Post by luchtzak »

Hi all,

do you know the kind of topics where somebody posts an aircraft flying over your country at 35.000 feet not knowing which airline it is? Now Emirates found the answer for our needs! Read this article: http://www.emirates.com/usa/AboutEmirat ... ounder.asp
The distinctive logo - the Emirates name in white on a red field - will be nearly 12 metres long, with the initial letter ‘E’ standing 2.3 metres tall, complementing the existing logo in gold on each side of the fuselage.

The new 777-300ER aircraft is the first of 30 such aircraft on order and for delivery from now until late 2008. All will carry the new underside logo, as will the existing Emirates fleet.

And already an image online: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/794765/L/

A new trend in aviation business? What do you think?

There should also be a logo on TOP of the aircraft, for when you are flying 1,000 ft above them :)

I concede it can be usefull for people who wonder what airlines are flying currently over their head, but I still found it ugly. What a pity, on a so beautifull bird :( ...

That's a nice idea they had. I'm sure that it will help our Fredje with the dot-spotting in Ghent ;)

Hello;

Cool, now you're at least sure which company it is.

Hello

I'm one of those spotters that looks up to the sky on a sunny day , and check every passing contrail , so I really identify them (or at least if possible) and write them down. So actually almost real airport spotting , and I also write assumable routes...

This will make it much easier to recognize Emirates planes , there they cause much confusion whetter its a SAA , Emirates or Sri Lankan....sometimes you really don't know...

That's over now.

Although some will stay difficult to recognize.

Best regards: Yannick ;)

Hi,

It will be easier to recognise them indeed. :)
Until now I haven't spotted an Emirates yet above my house. UA,LH,Gulf Air,JAL,... already,so I'll be waiting.

Why ugly?

Do you prefer a boring only white bottom?

Tastes and colours, I still prefer a white belly indeed. It could be better if they only put a red text instead of that.
