Hi,

Photos from Saturday 07/01/12. Had clear sky all day, although it was quite windy and unfortunately suffered some atmospheric distortion. Traffic operated different routes than usual over the Atlantic today due to a very stong jet stream (flights to europe over the atlantic arriving much earlier to their destination). This was in my favour as many aircraft were heading my way, and I had the opportunity to spot some gems :D

james, you was lucky, i had a break in the cloud for about an hour or so and took a few shots (see my new post) i was rather hoping for a few breaks this afternoon but it just steadily got worse.

tomorrow is looking even worse.

btw what is your set up? as your pics are stunning.
cheers simon

i think these can go into this section as they are all pretty much in focus albeit a bit small.

i know they are pointing at different obscure angles but i was concentrating on getting the focus right instead of angling the camera.

Nice photos, reg readable on the Ryanair :)

I take it you live in or near Torquay? quite a busy airway north/south situated right overhead there. Most of it is small traffic like easyjet/ryanair, but have spotted the airbus beluga over there quite a few times as well ;)

All the best,
James.

hi james, thanks mate im getting there, i especially like the first monarch one as i caught the strobe light illuminating.

im actually in a small town called chudleigh just SW of exeter.

i have two routes that cross almost above my head a transatlantic one and the berry head radial one.

seen the beluga many times, in the summer it used to fly over on a tuesday afternoon.

cheers simon

Cool shots DC10, nice clear shot of the MNG A300. I also suffered the high white cloud and lack of movements, hopefully winds will change soon over atlantic. Weather looking good for the next few days :D
