I have no clue what these planes are, but they fly over my house and it's fun to take photos of them. I hope they will interest some others. All taken today 1st of April 2010.

I dont have a Scope like most of the guys have over here, but with maximum zoom of my Sony H-50 Digital Camera, I captured a Korean Air Boeing 777-200 ER making contrails, flying south west over city of Peshawar, Pakistan (right over my roof top) on Air Route G325 towards Middle East. I guess the jet is flying around FL350

And another one around 5 kms away from my home as an Etihad Airlines Airbus A320 (Formula 1 Grand Prix Livery) climbs out of Peshawar Airport (PEW) at FL150 in direction of VOR HANGU, going towards Abu Dhabi in Middle East. No Contrails

Indeed DC10MD11, the best conditions are over, but last winter we had overhere hardly sun. When I was a bit younger, if I recall well, must go back to 1929 to see so few rays of sunshine in Belgium. So not much joy either.

Thx Raza_Ali for sharing your pics from Pakistan.

Hi,

DC10MD11, A rare opportunity to capture two aircraft in the same frame through the scope so well done.
Don't be so dissapointed about the summer conditions. Remember you can make some interesting sunrise/sunset contrail photos! 8-)

just found this link indicater for heatwaves
http://chp.decc.gov.uk/heatmap/

As you can see heat coming out of Leeds and Bradford probably explains distortion in my pictures
The clear patch of moorland to the west of Bradford is where Pole Hill is situated

On Thursday I woke up to see a lot of contrails trailing down the um140 airway. Normally I would only see about 5 or 6 aircraft on this airway per day, so it was unusual to see so many aircraft. I did not know about the volcano until i heard the news on the radio that morning. I was astonished when I turned on my computer and saw this on the radar screen:

I managed to get a couple of snaps before work:
