Nice shots Rob! It's good to see the heatwaves are finally dying down now, so I decided to put on the barlow lens. Heres too shots I made yesterday before it clouded over :roll:

Hi there
Here are selection of my first attempts from yesterday over leeds:


All taken with Canon 300d on 12" dob and 2x Barlow. Camera settings M mode, ISO200, Shutter speed 1/400. Auto contrast and Auto colour tools used in Picassa then Photo---Auto-process---Reduce Noise in Photo Impact

these are my first attempts so ant tips/hints/commnents would be gladly welcome

Hi leedseagle, I think your photos could be a lot better, especially with the equipment you're using. What brand of barlow lens are you using? is it a 1.25" or 2"? Also, are you using a t-ring to attach the camera to the barlow?

Someone can tell me the reg of next plane, pls?

Picture was taken around 7:15pm. North of Antwerp and the plane was flying at FL150 I guess. Maybe he came from EHWO??

That's a C-130 from the Portugese Air Force. The reg. will not be so easy to find I think.

@ Selcal & especially Benighted : quality of your pics = :thumbup:
Portugese C130's don't send ADS-B, nor Mode-S signals on the SBS. So if no sightning on the field (in Holland?), not at chance to find the serial.

@ leedeagle: quality of pics is rather modest. Pls give a description of your setup, perhaps we could be of assistance.

i'm using 2" skywatcher super deluxe ED Barlow

sorry for poor quality images i too was rather disappointed

i'm using sky watcher 12" DOB with canon 300d with t-ring and t-adapter, Skywatcher 2" ED Barlow

dslr settings: without barlow: AV setting iso 100. With Barlow AV seting iso 400

scope collimated by eye, I will try with cap


Any help would be great
