Hi L,

seems to me a questions of light in the scope.
So did you remove the plastic cap on top of the of the tube or just the little one on the cap self?
In case of the little one, that is not enough, the entire cap must be removed.

Hi, thanks for the compliment :D

it might be that the focuser cant quite reach focus? I have the 12" too and have experienced many problems with focusing because the focuser has to go all the way in to focus on the plane. I had to do some DIY on the focuser to make it go in further.

Basically the problem is that the camera isnt close enough to the mirrors. So you have 2 options; do some DIY on the focuser to make it go in more, or move the primary mirror up a few cm using the collimating screws (you may also need to buy some new screws if it needs to be raised a lot).

I did buy that focuser, but I was very dissapointed with it. It's too expensive for what it is and its not strong enough to hold the camera straight so I wouldnt reccomend it.

After 4 months the scope again outside, here some shots of Tuesday evening.
Heatwaves still strongly present, so things with the barlow are only possible from around one hour before sunset.

All on UL608:

daily visitor VT-JWD between Muscat - LHR
Image

In most cases to be found over mid Holland on its westbound course between Delhi - LHR, VT-ALO.
