Chris
Could have been a Syrian Air 747SP, I have seen one taking-off at LHR on July 13th
YK 747SP is not an option, as it has blue engines.
Have shot a handfull of SP's, A9C-HMH does match: here the link.

@Contrailwatcher:

This is my guess:
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1088862/M/

Transmile - MD11

Second thought was Martinair, but I can't see titles on the fuselage. Transmile has my 'vote'...

Hello,
Its been a while since anyone posted on this topic so I thought I'd break the ice
Today I saw Asiana Cargo flight AAR587 heading E routing KJFK-EBBR on airway UM140.
Here is a photo I took with my Canon 350D and my telescope:

I think your right about the Md-11 Glider. Thanks for the info.

Your picture is great, it looks like an air to air one, I live in Cranfield, Beds and I have always a great view on UN57 and UT420.

Thanks for the nice comment, you must get a LOT of traffic as UN57 is one of the main airways. I expect you see a lot of transatlantic flights to/from Heathrow and Gatwick as well as lots of other european flights :)

It sincerly look this (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1052716/L/) to me. It's a brand new startup cargo airline in Italy. They had this "red" dc10, but after three day of operation it got stuck by a push back tug in Milan Malpensa. So now it works with 2 leased Gemini Dc10

You're right, it is very busy here (UN57 is a one way route), I have got an enroute maps in .pdf from the DoD.

https://164.214.2.62/products/digitalae ... ntry=ename

UK airspace en route
High altitude is H6, H5, H3
Low altitude is L3, L4

For all other european members, open H1 or L1 you will find the map that correspond to your airspace on the right hand side. Non european maps are here https://164.214.2.62/products/digitalaero/charts.cfm

They are updated every month

@Stepha380: I downloaded H3 of the upper airspace maps, and I have this airway caled TR1 that is nearby my area, Is this a military route?

@Lumumba: Thanks for the comment I'll try to get some more shots soon when the weather gets better.

@a.savarese: Thanks for identifying the carrier of the Md-11

Hi,
Try this link: http://www.openatc.com/gmap.asp
Its a map which shows live aircraft positions, so useful for tracking planes as they go over. It covers England, Belgium, The Netherlands and some of France.

Hi,
I just saw the A380!!
The first time for me to see it and was a beautiful sight. I took a pic of it through my telescope, but unfortunately bad quality due to backlighting from the sun.

Hi,
Thanks Pawel :)
Here is a 744 of KLM going to AMS all the way from the Caribbean. She is not cruising on any airway, but when I was listening to my radio, I heard the controller asking if they could cruise 20nm to the right of UW501, to avoid other traffic.

Hi FANFLYER,
I use a celestron Powerseeker 76:
http://www.celestron.com/c2/product.php ... 5&ProdID=4
It only cost me £90, but I am thinking of buying a better one soon, so that I can hopefully read the reg off the wing!!
Its also a nice telescope for astronomy aswell.
