It's real if its accepted by airliners.net. Those people are screeners of the highest class, so they won't accept an fake picture.
I also recommend you to use a shorter link for the image, this one is too long.
You better use this one, Zaki-Boy: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/870588/L/

Fake, ever seen a rainbow in a dark sky?
On the other hand you could say a filter has been used but the reflection on the airplane is not correct, too bright.
ps. Just found out this topic has already been discussed over and over at A.net why are people copying these kind of discussions from A.net to Luchtzak?
Let us please stay different from other forums

I don't agree with you Erwin.A318 wrote:Fake, ever seen a rainbow in a dark sky?

The contrail is full of ice crystals and when the sun illuminates them from a specific angle they will show the rainbow colours. !!! It's as simple as that .
The guy was lucky to be at the right pace at the right time.
And BTW the sky always has that colour when cruising relatively high.

Hey that is new to me since I always see a bright blue sky when I look up to the sky out of my window.Avro wrote:A318 wrote:Fake, ever seen a rainbow in a dark sky?

But to be honest Chris, if it is real it is a piece of art, if it is fake.....it's still an art

That's true it's a piece of art. But next time you fly try to make a picture of the sky above the plane and look above the plane while cruising.
I realized this when I was cruising at FL390 with an A319 of SN a few years ago
Ciao

Ever heard of Photoshop? The sky can be changed easy. And I think it's real.
I don't know if you guys know it, but A.net screeners are also humans
EDIT : Rago could also be right ...
Oh please, maybe they can screen well, but every person who has a bit knowledge of PS can edit pictures that they look real. It's real if its accepted by airliners.net. Those people are screeners of the highest class, so they won't accept an fake picture.
