Back to 25L/R.
The built up delays should be gone quite soon.

Yes and I saw the Icelandair 75 in the same fashion as yesterday : take off from 19 then right bank heading about 330. Unusual sight from my place.

But yesterday at the same time landings were on 25L while 19 was active for Take off.
Was 25R u/s ?
Is 19/25L an efficient combo?

I often wonder how LHR can manage with only 2 runways. Is it less windy there than in BRU.

It’s not, but you work with what you have. BRU has an extra* runway, so it’s used whenever weather or other reasons necessitate doing so. LHR doesn’t have that extra runway, so they can’t use it.
That said, the “fight” to add an extra runway at LHR has been going on for quite a few years.

19/25L is definitely not an efficient combo, since traffic on final for 25L dictates the departure rate on 19.

Now 19 for arrivals and 25R for departures is used, which is much more efficient, but not always a possibility.

*not really extra, because it can’t really be used independently without impacting the other runways.

Landings on the 07s has its drawbacks as we know.

After using RWY01 in the late afternoon, RWY07L was in use (winds turning 12007kts) during HJ but had to go to 07R after SS.

It seems BCS118 was unable to vacate by C1 (heck, we paid a landing fee for the full runway length ...).

This led to two go arounds by Air Arabia and AFL :

Seems MAC113 got a late wave off.

25L and 25R in use now. Depending on how the Wind evolves today, a switch to 01/07 might be possible, though not foreseen at this time.

Rather special: 01 Single for now. No clue how long it will last, but very nice to see this very, very rare configuration used.

I was wondering : any feed-back from people since the beginning of RNAV approaches on runway 07L at Brussels (replacing the usual VOR approach, BUB beeing out of the air) ?

Well I noticed in the past days (as we're having strong 06 and 07 winds) that the runway 07L is still used after dawn and that, day and night, the approach is no longer curved but in a straight line, which is totally new and for me a clear sign of the VOR DME no longer being used.
Do you have any info on the RNAV approach, when it started etc?
thanks

Indeed a first for me yesterday evening as 07L used to be HJ only.
Nice view of the city as you are now overflying a point about 2km further South than the 07L FAF is/was.

RNVA is a breeze and I guess we'll soon or later get rid of the beacon navigation developed by the Phoenician sailors 3000 years ago.

Some caveats:
The published 07L RNAV approach will "disappear" again when BUB VOR becomes available again. Since there's no offset, amongst other factors, the "HJ only" restriction is not necessary for the RNAV approach.
Not all aircraft are capable/certified to fly this approach. As such, some will get radar vectors/ a visual/ an SRA/...
Using 07L for arrivals is a lot more effective than 07R, since the risk of rolling past the last available exit taxiway is non-existent on 07L, hence greatly reducing the number of missed approaches. They do happen, of course, but a lot less and mostly for other reasons. On 07R, it isn't unusual to have two or even three missed approaches if (heavy) traffic misses C1 to vacate. On 07L, it's rare to have even one.
