During the night, arriving and departing flights will use RWY 25L. In early morning this may become RWY 02.

Landing and take-offs are on runway 20. In afternoon landings will probably be on 25L, takeoffs on 20.

24 August. However, due to the close supervision of the construction site, the excellent collaboration between the various contractors, the perfect execution of the works and the sunny weather, works will be finished a day earlier.

This means that as of tonight 23 August runway 25R/07L will be available again to air traffic. The runway may even reopen as early as 5 pm. As from that moment the normal flight distribution plan will apply.

I had dinner tonight (around 19:00 UTC) somewhere along the Haachtsesteenweg, and was surprised to see so many 25R landings. Is this normal practice, or was 25L not in use? I always understood 25R landings are rare to begin with, though less rare for freighters.

Unique picture. Anyone recognises this street?

"Starting 1 August 2013, Brussels Airport made some maintenance and modernization works on runway 25R. Many planes were thus diverted to land on runway 20. This cargo 747 was captured on day one of the nightmare experienced by the neighbours of the airport."

Nightmare? :?

Thanks, SFM. I wrongly thought this picture was taken somewhere further away from the airport perimeter.

Special RWY configuration at BRU today.
Due to the heavy eastern winds:

Departures: 07R
Arrivals: 07L

When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky.
