SSC is now the oldest A319,

Off topic, but this spelling error can be found in almost every topic:

old, older, Eldest
'old, older, oldest' is the correct form.
'Eldest' is derived from the word 'Elder' (meaning the oldest person in a group or family, and can only be used in this context.)

Grammatically, oldest is correct too.

Elder, eldest can solely be used for people. In the sentence above, "oldest" is the only correct possibility.

Also, I think "elder" and "eldest" are considered archaic by some; for example the words must be rare in the US.
L'arroseur arrosé
That is a good addition to my (quite limited) vocabulary of colloquial French. Merci bien!
