the last line in this article says so much:

Pattanaporn's relatives said the survivor had worn many amulets and Buddha images

For westerners it sounds as off topic. For many Thai people, it just means that he survived because of wearing the right amulets.

Hmmm, quite a coincidence which makes me feel somewhat less "jay yen yen" (thai for relaxed, literally meaning "cool cool heart") all of a sudden :o : while reading this thread at the swimming pool of " birds and bees" resort in pattaya, a big fat white chopper started circling loud and low just over this place... Hope this isn't my last post on this forum :P

    travel by road
    infections of rescue teame members
    no money to buy new choppers...
