Jetairfly and Thomas Cook have cancelled all flights to Sharm-el-Sheikh until mid-march - following the advice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Re: Flights to SSH cancelled
On the BRU website the only cancelation I can see are 3 flight to Taba operated by Brussels Airlines.
10.35 SN1039 Taba
10.50 SN1045 Taba
14.35 SN1051 Taba
10.35 SN1039 Taba

14.35 SN1051 Taba
Re: Flights to SSH cancelled
The flights to Taba have been cancelled earlier, after a terrorist attack on Korean tourists on 16 February.
The outbound flights to Sharm-el-Sheikh are cancelled from 3 to 15 March, but the return flights remain scheduled. For example, Thomas Cook has a BRU-Marsa Alam-SSH-BRU flight on 3 March: it will take tourists only to Marsa Alam, pick up the Marsa Alam tourists who have finished their vacation and then continue to SSH to pick up the tourists scheduled to come back on that day.

German tour firms organize Sharm el Sheikh evacuation flights
Condor and TUIfly (Germany) ave begun evacuating hundreds of German tourists in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm El Sheikh after the German Foreign Ministry warned against travel to the entire Sinai peninsula.
Reuters newswire reports that Alltours has brought back 120 people from Sharm el Sheikh, while TUI Germany and Thomas Cook Germany said they were organising travel back to Germany for its customers there. Another German tour operator, DER, chartered an aircraft to bring back all 85 clients from its different tour operator brands that were in Sharm el-Sheikh.
The advisory follows the recent bombing of a coach carrying Christian South Korean tourists from Sinai to the Israeli border which killed four and injured fifteen.
The resorts of Hurghada and Marsa Alam on Egypt's mainland Red Sea coast have not been affected by the Ministry's advisory.

The Condor (Thomas Cook) and TUI (Jetair) sister companies in Belgium consider that Sharm-el-Sheikh is safe enough and don't repatriate their customers. They only cancel their outbound flights to SSH.

Nope: Thomas Cook didn't decide anything for flights after 15 March. Until today!airazurxtror wrote:Jetairfly is to cancel its flights to SSH until 24 April included.

Now Thomas Cook is escalating: SSH flights cancelled until 30 June. Simultaneously, air and hotel capacities to Hurghada and Marsa Alam are increased.
Next flight to SSH scheduled for Tuesday, 1 July.

The current plan is that JAF will start flying again to SSH on 04SEP2014 (depending on the situation in Egypt)
Greetings,
All my posted timings are local !
Re: Flights to Sharm-el-Sheikh cancelled
Since JAF and TCW have cancelled their flights to SSH, people who really want to go there have to find other ways.
One of my relatives went there today with Egyptair via Cairo. It is easy to find the registration of the A320 from BRU to CAI (MS726) on FR24: it was SU-GCC.
But FR24 doesn't cover Egypt itself. Could someone provide the registration of the B738 which operated flight MS22 from CAI to SSH tonight, 11 May?
Thank you very much!

Apparently, JAF and TCAB have again postponed the re-launch of their flights to SSH.tangolima wrote:The current plan is that JAF will start flying again to SSH on 04SEP2014 (depending on the situation in Egypt)
A friend of mine had booked a flight to SSH on TCAB in September. The announced route was Brussels - Marsa Alam - Sharm-el-Sheikh. Yesterday he received an e-mail from Condor in Germany saying that his touring was changed to BRU - Mars Alam. Full stop. Of course he was not interested in going to Marsa Alam, so he called Thomas Cook who said SSH was no longer available for political reasons and immediately proposed to refund the fare.
The same day he rebooked on Egyptair via Cairo for the same price and with Miles&More as a bonus.

Re: Flights to Sharm-el-Sheikh cancelled
The Belgian FPS Foreign Affairs has softened its advice about travel to Sharm el Sheikh. Therefore, Jetairfly will resume its flights to the Egyptian city on 19 October, with a reduction of 100 euros for those booking within one week from now.
Only the area around Sharm el Sheikh is considered safe. Travel to or through the South Sinai is not recommended.
