What about the talkie walkie beside the runway

Does anybody know if it's possible to hear the conversation between the tower and the pilot with a classic talkie (12miles range) ? And is it authorized and not dangerous ? Thank you guys

not with a classic walkie talkie, no. they operate at a fixed frequency. there are possibilities for this however, but depending on your country this might be forbidden by law. where do you live?

It is possible! I had a walkie talkie and I could hear the pilots (and I've heared other people saying the same).

Airband receiver is much easier though
