Well done Jan
What a pity that wind on the first lesson.

By reading your emotions I got quite jealous. I had my first (try) lesson a couple of years ago and not continued with the "silly" excuse of lack of time :(

I wish, at least you, will keep on till the last lesson. Good flights :!:

After some 45 minutes dancing and shaking in the winds, the instructor wanted to make a last tour of the city of Nivelles but I was very tired,

So true. Flying, especially when the weather isn't ideal, can be tiring. On the flip side though (for me) if the weather is nice, it's just like driving a car!! Keep up the posts, as an instructor myself, I'd like to hear how your progress goes. Oh, and one more thing, welcome to the world of pilots!!!!!

Congrats with your first lesson! I flew a C172 a while ago, there was a lot of wind and indeed, I was also very tired!

Can you take some pictures next time? :P

From the readings of your report, it seems that you've had a unique experience. It encourages me to go after my first flying lessons myself!

I wish you all the best with your flying career!

Post subject: My first flying lesson

Welcome to the fraternity of pilots!

you will never look back with regret!

I don't know if they have Air cadet Squadrons in your country, but if they do! join now. A cheap way to fly and a very good experience for future aviators.

Good luck and keep the bubble level!

-) consider gliding! for one example, there's a yearly summer camp at EBZR, check it out at www.kazm.be this is specially aimed at young people though the minimum age is 16 also, alas for you!
That's how I started!! I started flying gliders every summer when I was 15 and I soloed at 16!! Try it, it's so much more peaceful than having a buzzing engine.

I heard an 8-year old once got a pilot licence. But I don't think he was allowed to fly yet!

That is a nice story but I can't believe there's any truth to it - or more precisely I can't believe it can hold any truth today......
