Re: The one and only topic on which runway in use @EBBR

The RNP approach(-es) for RWY 07L (and 07R) have been published with this Airac cycle (2007) because they will be available before the next Airac cycle (2008) is published. However, they're not available yet to avoid overflying Brussels city as much as possible. The reason for publishing them is the...

Re: The one and only topic on which runway in use @EBBR

... RWY07L is HJ only... It's not. The VOR/DME approach on RWY 07L is HJ only. SRAs and visual approaches can still be flown after sunset. Though a visual at night is less than common practice, an SRA (at BRU) happens even less often. It's good practice for both the ATCOs and the pilots in question...

Re: Impact of the coronavirus crisis on aviation

Going off-topic, but... On Google Earth (the app) this seems to be the image of 14/7/2018. On Google Earth (the web-versio) even the three departing planes are gone: https://earth.google.com/web/@50.90503295,4.48470285,33.16121537a,4519.65301313d,35y,359.99574008h,0t,0r Was it really that quiet on ...

Re: Social actions at air navigation service provider skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

How is it going for the controllers during these difficult times? No different than for anybody else in the same company, as far as I know? If possible, work at home. For those who haven't taken up tasks they can perform at home, they will be coming to work less than usual, both because of reduced ...

Over the last year BAF has been using a HiFly A330 on more than one occasion, so I’d say it’s still a possibility.

Re: KJK 26/03/2020 KLM 747?

I am Quite sure that Kortrijk would be unable to accommodate a 747, let alone why you would want to shoehorn one in. What probably happened is that the “original” PH-BFC was retired and the registration was reused on a business jet. Looking at the call signs it used the last few days, that would als...

While that’s basically they way they handle it, the duration is not up to the pilots, but is prescribed in the relevant manual.
Other than that, yes.

Re: flights to the Sahel

Brake, not break.

Because, for whatever reason, it can't be used. Having one brake inoperable is not that big a deal. It's taken into account for the performance numbers, but that's about it.

What has that to do with Corona cancellations, Sean? :?:
The topic is about the impact, not only the cancellations. Very relevant contribution, I’d say.

Re: Airline bankruptcies, ceased operations, restructurations

CargoLogicAir shutting down seems pretty much a certainty now. Another one bites the dust: Air Cargo Global (former AirCargoGermany) also seems to be shutting down. Though, in their words, it's a restructuring of the company. For both companies, covid-19 seems to be a large part of the reason why th...

Why would the Smurfs be gone? SNB is Rackham, not the Smurfs.
In any case, as far as I know, SN Maintenance & Engineering doesn’t have the capability to do a full repaint at BRU, so the paint scheme on SNB should still very much be the same.
