Indeed it's an A320. The ERJ170 looks a bit different, f.e. with a larger upward wingets and straighter shape of tail. According a picture of Cityflyers sole operating ERJ a/c G-LCYD, the tail cone is also painted silver.

After 4 months the scope again outside, here some shots of Tuesday evening. Heatwaves still strongly present, so things with the barlow are only possible from around one hour before sunset. Hi L,

seems to me a questions of light in the scope.
So did you remove the plastic cap on top of the of the tube or just the little one on the cap self?
In case of the little one, that is not enough, the entire cap must be removed.
