Re: Belgocontrol ATC strikes 2016

Thalenoi, That's why I said 'maybe', I just wanted to indicate not every airline and therefore pilots work the same way... Indeed DH flights are not paid out as a flying hour, but are there for calculation of duty time. And maybe this captain informed his crew just to be sure for rest calculation, s...

Re: Belgocontrol ATC strikes 2016

... I was dead-heading as an IT manager from BKK and we had a dead-heading crew on board. After landing at home base the captain of the DH crew told them: don't forget to mention 24h "on duty" (they boarded at HKG), yeah, reading books and having stupid discussions with me: "where to...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

B-west. I'm really surprised people are so pro for a secured and safe airport, whereas no one seems to have the same feeling about the place even more people died actually...no Facebook page, no marching policemen around Maelbeek, no security perimeter around it either. Why is it that way and not th...

If you pay peanuts you get monkeys, but if you pay big cash (worldwide probably the best salary package) you still have just normal people flying and we all have our days ;)

Re: Brussels Airlines too noisy at Stockholm Bromma Airport

The reason the air brake is so extensively used at BMA is because of its steeper approach profile. At airliner weights, a glideslope of more than 3° like in BMA immediately makes your jet accelerate at high weights. Explain us why SN is the one using airbrakes extensively, we are only landing there...

The 350 flew over our house on his way back, we live quite close to the airport, but I was incredibly amazed by it's quietness, really awesome!

Re: BRU infrastructure: future

Maybe kind of a monorail train shuttle to get really fast to the of the terminal ;) Or a monorail driving around landside passing all parkings and maybe a remote dedicated kiss and ride and pick up zone. That would be awesome, because the current drop off zone at departure level is way too crowded ...

ironically it seems Austrian, SWISS, and Lufthansa are then copy-pasting from Brussels Airlines again. I am sure you've noticed too how all 3 have annouced they will soon go to a 3 class economy product on Europe too, very similar to that of Brussels Airlines? Indeed they even didn't try to be orig...

I can only agree with Flanker. I really don't see why this came out as the winner? But what does it matter, they won't lose a single customer due to livery changes, I guess it's the trend nowadays, look at Iberia or China Eastern, just make it white with something, it must be good no..? It is feasible if u consider that Club Med organized and will in S15 flights from Orly and Lyon to Comiso (in the deep south of Sicily, very close Also to Tunis) operated by Hop! regional, and its bigger airplan is Emb 190. the question is related to the short runway in ANR. As the airports you ment...

Sorry, but I fail to understand the above tables completely. So apparently the total passengers international seems to be exactly the same as international + domestic together. Isn't that weird, considering Ryanair has numerous domestic flights in their network...?

Re: Aviation and the Ebola epidemic in West-Africa

Hey BAAV, crew going to/coming from duty and flying as a passenger is called positioning, which also counts as duty time. In this case it would probably cost them a lot of duty time and the airline loses 10 rev seats.

Re: Elections 2014: Wathelet wants less flights at BRU

Every supporter and it's direct family members of 'pas question' should be blacklisted to fly out of BRU for a year or so when this 'no left turn at all' will be allowed... If they find it democratic to complain, I can inderstand an airport would be able to do something similar ;) No plane over your...
