Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

Cnc, these figures show the origin/production plant of export shipments, not the place were they were exported as such or where they left the country.
So harbours nor airports play a role...but exporting industry, shippers, etc.

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

Let's post some facts and figures that also concern LGG. Out of the entire Belgian export market, 81 % of the shipments come out of Flanders, 2,9 % out of Brussels area, and 17 % ONLY out of Wallony. (source fgov) Might this be a reason why LGG's carriers- except TNT - are inbound driven and no othe...

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

OK, let's make a bet: who is going to attract a brand new cargo carrier to it's airport in the next quarter ? LGG or BRU ? I bet it's BRU, and I have a wonderfull feeling that it's going to be a nice one. They deserve a nice Christmass gift, and I hope they will get it... Shall you pay a bottle of c...

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

I would believe it's more challenging to act and live with the crisis when having 13 full freighter airlines than having only 4...but indeed, it might be part of the people's behaviour and way of thinking that in the southern part of the country people are pleased just to see growth and not to care ...

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

hey Guys, stop bullshitting about language, or open another forum for that and I will be pleased to join and comment over there. But here it has got nothing to do with the LGG (versus BRU)duscussion. To Desert Rat: forget about a "national" airport as even this name has disappeared years ag...

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

Congrats to many of the respondants. I'm very pleased to see "Real" answers about the real situation, and not about pure sales-peptalks. Pleased to see we are talking about equal weapons, about level playing field, about whom send complaints, etc.Because this is where it is all about too.

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

Acid-drop, Unfortunately, you are selling LGG again as it is the best european cargo airport, which it isn't !!! The poor student will believe you without questionning the reality. No,LGG is not able to fit all types of aircraft as you said. The B747-800 is for example not able to be handled at LGG....

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

Dear Student, I don't think this is the right place to answer all of your questions. It will take very long and many objections/different points of views will make it unclear for you. If you visited LGG lately, I guess someone presented to you and you can ask the for answers on all of your questions....

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

All, One last remark, which is nothing against LGG but a fact that should be cleared: Pure cargo as such does not need night operations- with some very small exceptions from time to time- contrary to Integrator business who does no need any daylight. Full freighter cargo is absolutely and perfectly f...

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

All, I love the way reactions goes quickly when you step on some-ones toe. Jovan is comparing Flanders with OST ad ANR, not mentionning BRU...but why ? Because there is no comparison possible: a private non-subsidised airport can not compete against a governmental subsidised airport. Which I fully a...

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

Dear Acid-drop, are you willing to also share the financial details that are directly linked to this cargo growth ? I mean, would you mind sharing the financial results of "buying" the business as LGG does ? How many Millions of Euro's will be lost this year if LGG would get no subsidies ?...

Re: Belgocontrol: Bru traffic in Sep. 2009 lowest since 1994

All, The silent nights are already occuring since April last, this won't change at all in the next week-end. So operators won't fear changes due to this; The new regulation as of this week-end does not mention anything new about the night operations compared to the past. And the B747-200 restriction...

Re: Brussels Airport: monthly figures 2009

By the way, it is not only important for Brucargo West as such, but also for just developing the actual Brucargo zone as an entity. Not only growing as such, but growing by respecting environmental issues, noise emissions, operating times, etc. And by doing this, it will grow taking care of also gro...

"Looking forward to see what's the result of BRU"
For those who follow up on Brussels Airport's cargo figures: they still are a higher than LGG on YTD base...not much, but enough to remain bigger YTD ;)

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

All, Atlantis is right, this is also what I heard and read. Although I believe the 2008 figure was just over 1.000.000 ton. And on Acid-drop's idea: it's not a joker at all, it's just a fact...and facts should be compared with facts, it's that simple. It's a pity the error occured, because without t...

Dear Haflinger, Let's focus on the discussion, we are talking about airports, not about Opel or whatsoever. Dear Jan, I will not discuss how much the military are charching the civilians, as I don't even know the amount at all, but as you launched the idea: have you got an idea how much the government is charging the civilians to "subsidies" LGG airport for example (Or CRL?) ? Ever seen how many...

Re: Liège Airport (LGG) latest news

Just one small remark; I do believe that no-one is aware that the military do organise the Traffic Control during the day now at LGG, and that as soon as they'll leave, it will normally be done by Belgocontrol...which will cost the airlines money I believe. Has any-one thought of that ? ;) Is everyb...

Re: Cargo B financial woes ?

On way less, the things I see are indeed way less interlining opportunities, way less flexibility for an airline during TNT peaktime, etc...I will not argue on way less traffic, with only a few customers it indeed is a fact, and all the rest I will be pleased to argue if you want ( or why would an a...
