Re: OS removing premium C/CL on A320
going against every trend in the industry! Do you mean will install such biz seats soon on e.g. flight to TLV ? No, I was rather being sarcastic as this is a recurrent topic at luchtzak.be, & the lack of these premium seats is apparently a huge gap in the market that SN hasn't discove...

OS removing premium C/CL on A320
Nooooooooooooooooo!! :o In Summer 2011 season, Austrian gradually ending Airbus A320 Premium Business Class seats, which Business class seating is identical to long-haul. These Airbus A320 aircraft will switch back to traditional European 3-3 configuration, with middle seat not open for sale. With t...

Re: Brussels Airlines vs Air Sénégal
Well, as another member mentioned it, b.air should be able to fly with an A330 (daily) to DKR only, by filling the plane with O&D pax and pax connecting from Europe. B.Air might need to lower ticket prices to attract pax from the competition and consequently make less profit on this route, but ...

Re: Replacement of SN's Avro RJ and B737 fleet
1.You can only make 8% more profit on that flight if you fill those additional seats AT THE SAME YIELDS, AT THE SAME FARES. But if it's impossible to sell an additional 30 seats on the Avro RJ today at the same yields, it will be impossible tomorrow on the CS100 or A319 or even on an A380. This is ...

Re: Replacement of SN's Avro RJ and B737 fleet
Well, at least BA has increased seatpitch in Club Europe... BA is using flexible seats on their A32S fleet, just like any other carrier... they might have a bit more legroom in the first part of the cabin, but nothing that really sets them apart from the competition. Aeroflot & BMI (sometimes) ...

Re: LLB reports SN to look at JFK, SFO!
If they don't want to do it then your national airline has to do it. OK, so let's summarize it as follows: if for instance a Singapore Airlines thinks that a direct Brussels route is not an option because the local market is not big enough, aircraft shortage, lack of sufficient connections in BRU e...

Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Unsuccesfull route or is an frequentie increase expected? Why would the route be unsuccessful? Maybe they just don't need the additional 20 seats of the CR7? Or maybe they're taking the CR7 away in STR and let EW run the base with CR2s, which would make the single CR7 on the Brussels route a bit of...

Re: LLB reports SN to look at JFK, SFO!
Just a thought: use the A340's during day flights on medium distance . If you look at the operating cost of an A340, these will remain "just thoughts" ;-) There is a big demand to SIN, BKK, NRT, RIO. Could you define what "big demand" means to you, Atlantis, and how SN could tra...

Re: LLB reports SN to look at JFK, SFO!
I assume the codeshares with UA showed that there must be a market wich is big enough between BRU and the west coast of the US. I think it must be possible to operate such a route, but only when JFK is launched succesfully. Sometimes I really don't get your way of thinking, MR_Boeing. Do you really...

Re: SN TATL flights
Ofcourse I know that, but the fact that someone of the station management of one of our AFI stations is sent to NY to start up sales overthere does indicate that there is more going on than just some distant interest. Well, as far as I know, SN actually has been having a sales team in NY for years ;)

Re: SN TATL flights
We all know that the question is not WILL SN start to fly to JFK (not EWR) but WHEN. Why JFK and not EWR? There is already someone selected (or is he already over there?) who will start the investigation of the potential of an PM flight to JFK. You realize that every airline actually employs a bunc...

Re: BRU summer 2010: latest news, routes, airlines
I could think of a reason. Maybe they value more to have information in their database about the destinations people fly from BRU to the States so that they can do better marketing for certain destination. Well, there is sufficient market intelligence available to retrieve that kind of information ...

Re: BRU summer 2010: latest news, routes, airlines
if CO's flight is very succesfull (wich it is) they can block SN from selling BRU-EWR-BRU when these pax doesn't connect to another destination. Well, actually CO can't block SN from selling BRU-EWR-BRU tickets. When a marketing carrier has point-to-point fares filed with a free-flow agreement, the...

Re: Air France introduces Paris-London A380 service
Never trust AF (at least, that's my experience). With only 3 A380s in the fleet, it is a given that these LHR rotations will be swapped with other equipment from time to time. Or would you rather delay a longhaul A380 flight because you want to do a little hop to London first? In case you have oper...

Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Before, there were two waves: early morning and late afternoon. Actually, when looking at the SN timetable, there are six waves. For longhaul, there is a second departure wave but the arrival wave remains the same for all flights so your connectivity pretty much sucks in one direction if you believ...

Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Thank you for your reply, Atlantis, but I still don't understand what's "new" or why SN has suddenly "realized the need for waves". Unless I don't understand the word 'wave' myself, I see that SN's network is actually very much structured in waves. So could you please clarify wha...
