Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2014
Ok, so on a day where 8 A330s are supposed to fly and one breaks down, a flight has to be delayed by 24hrs as there is no spare aircraft today (on most days, there is actually, so bad luck today). Let's continue the screaming and sensationalism  Some people compare such an irregularity on a wi...

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2014
On amadeus i can see availabilities on SN465 Kigali Brussels, but i can't find the flight BRU-KGL on Brussels airport website It seems indeed that there are problems again with SN's long-haul fleet. A flight to Douala and Yaounde (not scheduled on Saturdays) is operated as SN 1 367 and indeed SN465...

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming
These pilots reactions only proof that they are not on a planet called earth. What an unseen arrogance. I'm baffeled. Your attitude is a slap in the face for everyone that earns less then you do, including your colleagues who work very hard every day to ensure your damned plane can take of in the f...

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming
Shouldn't you be happy you can return quicker to the 100%? And maybe there was just more need for more production compared to when the Beyond plan was negotiated? The world changes, you know? Next time, they should maybe do it the easy way and fire people whenever there is a surplus to avoid ...

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming
@SN1203: I never heard management claim there are too many managers... If you say there are too many pilots (why we had to fly for 85% wage, changing to 90% in april, due to a miscalculation of the management), but at the same time you can not give them the annual leaves they're entitled too, yes t...

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming
Sn structure, inherited by Sabena is also way too heavy... A light structure with a direct link between frontliners and senior management would be,for what i think, a very good way of saving money... too bad that's not the direction taken... The company hasn't enough frontliner(wich are directly use...

Re: Brussels Airlines : cabin crew strike looming
@Flanker2, Inquirer I always find it funny how people continue talking about management mistakes etc. being the reason for the current state of affairs at Brussels Airlines. At the same time - when asking questions like 'what would you change to make things work', there's a lot of silence or people ...

Problems with Thomas Cook's leased B757 today?
A Privilege Style B752 was noted above Ghent this afternoon at 4.500ft with its landing gear & gear doors out (registration EC-HDS). After taking off from BRU, the plane flew at low altitude towards Ghent, turned back to Brussels, made a little circuit and performed an overshoot above runway 02 ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' third US destination
I've told you before: you often base your ideas on wrong assumptions which you just happen to find online, without ever cross checking them... better try to get hold of factual data first. You can also add that - even with the slightest clue on route economics - you just know that a direct BRU-DEN ...

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2013
Brussels Airlines does not even have one stand-by aircraft at its home airport ? Ryanair has one at Charleroi. And they say a legacy carrier is more reliable than a low-cost one ... Nice try to stir up the discussion as usual. Fact based reply: with multiple aircraft blocked at several airpor...

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2013
Right so apparantly there were not enough passengers on the flight so they just cancelled it an bumped everybody onto the later flight! WTF?? That's what you pay more then 300 EUR for?? No wonder they're going bankrupt It's not like an airline just cancels a flight if the bookings are low  I ...

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
If you subtract 1000€/month to pay back the training cost a lot of BruAir pilots will go home with less than 1500€/month. OK, so if your CEO tells you that he wants to protect pilot jobs by letting all pilots work 80% or whatever, who exactly do you think he's protecting? Exactly those people who'r...

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
Memmed & b.inventive: why do pilots always think they're the only one who have to give in? The choice is yours actually: either pilots have to be fired or you all do an effort to keep jobs by flying less (and still earning loads of money, it's not like you're going home at the end of the month w...

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?
But i also think it's too late for Brussels Airlines, now they have to struggle for survival. They had taken the right direction with SN (CEO Vanderputten), their turn with Brussels airlines was dramatic and every concerned frontliner was totally aware of that (that was not the case of the managers,...

Re: Jetairfly goes Embraer
Jetairfly seems to be an intelligently managed airline - not losing time in moaning about level or unlevel playing fields, not wishing to get rid of a concurrent - but steadily going ahead on its own. Ummm... well, they actually don't have to lose time on the existing unlevel playing field in this ...

Ryanair get subsidies ? Why does SN not get some also ? For the same reason why I also don't blindly follow the car in front of me if it drives through the red light... For all the good reasons given here on this topic to explain the lack of flexibility of SN, I'd still much prefer to see a more &q...

In today's economic environment, you have to be reactive and proactive and try to be ahead of the competition. But that's maybe to much to ask from b.air.... Oooh Air Key West, you just can't stop your unfounded attacks on b.air, can you... It is not a problem that you are totally clueless about th...

Re: UA951 BRU-IAD 01FEB - loads?
There's only six passengers in rows between 34 to 46 ( wing to last row) Make a fake booking on the UA site, they'll offer you to choose your seat on the seat map. (non)-assigned seats are no indication at all of the actual booked passengers. ie, First is empty, business is full and economy pretty ...
