Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

Air Canada will codeshare on several AFI flights and several European flights. And SN will codeshare on the Montreal route and several Canadian and some US routes. And with this route SN can focus on AFI, and that's what they need to do. ;)

Re: Air Canada to introduce non-stop Montréal-Brussels service

SN need to focus on AFI in the first place, so an codeshare with Air Canada is really good. When SN gets a new plane they need to use that for AFI, if they want to fly to Montreal this would be something for over 5 years or so. Conclusion this is a wonderfull route for Air Canada AND for Brussels Ai...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

Everyone is talking about SQ but I think that ANA is a more potential airliner to start the first new Asia route (*A route). When they get their 787's, BRU is a perfect airport to serve daily with a 787 from Tokyo-Narita. There is a lot of potential for this route. SQ is more an airline for over a c...

Re: Brussels Airlines' loadfactor

Yes indeed, and they will keep the same amount of flights like this summer. So that is a good sign because Sevilla is more a summer destination. And their loadfactor in June was 63.5%, I think that is the best loadfactor since a long time for SN. I am curious about July

Re: More 787 woes?

Is this an engineered or a patched plane? I mean seriously - would anyone ever buy a new car with so many patches applied? Do you think that a car or a Airbus is perfect from the moment the prototype is finished?! Testing is to find such things. The wing of the A380 collapsed also sooner than Airbu...

Re: Brussels Airlines' loadfactor

I think b-air' s African network is again/still a good money maker. From this winter season they will fly 7 times a week to Dakar (1 extra flight) and 3 times a week to Banjul (also 1 extra flight). Also the Vilnius route get extra flights, from this winter they will fly 6 times a week with a A319 a...

Some days of the week, yes... I regularly see one A330 standing at hangar 40 in maintenance.
The A330's are flying a lot and long flights, they need weekly maintenance so it is not possible to fly with this 4 A333's to Tel Aviv.

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

No A330/A340' s are perfect for Tel Aviv, but SN need them for Africa. Only when they get a lot of A330's it is possible to fly with this airplanes to Tel Aviv.

Re: Cargo B financial woes ?

Ofcourse we now that LGG is cheaper but the move from BRU to LGG costs 12 million, that is absolutly to much for a company in bad chape. That is the only reason why this move was a very bad idea of Cargo B.

Re: Cargo B financial woes ?

I am prity sure it is linked, wich company with a good management would move the whole company to another airport (ok it is cheaper than BRU) in a time of crisis when the whole move costs 12 million?! And this while Flanders invest can do nothing when they go outside the Flanders, by by investement ...

Re: Cargo B financial woes ?

But 12 million is really too much for Cargo B, their capital was only 27 million. And this all while they where loss making. This move to LGG was just suicide.

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

About long haul, SN will never use Boeing in the first 5 years I think. This change would be to big again and LH use Airbus itself for long haul (exept of the 744). The A300's are a very temporary solution, this planes should be replaced again over a few years.

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

And LH wants that they use Airbus for long haul. But I think that LH gone drop some of their B737's with SN for short haul. Because the A319(4) are with less than the B737's(11).

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

The last A300 wil leave the LH fleet next mond i think, but I don't now what their plans are with these plains. The A300 in SN's fleet is better than nothing and is more possible than an A330/A340 this year, next year is an other thing. But most of this A300 are really old, is it a good idea to give...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

If SN really join Star Alliance this year, I think this codeshare's will stop at the end of the year. AA will fly the 763 again on the Chicago route at the end of the year, I think that is a sign that the codeshare' s with SN gone stop.
