Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
It is not that I don't believe you, obe, but I find it fantastical from IAG to include Air Europa in their list of "member" airlines when they own 20 % only of Air Europa and unethical to do so when the full acquisition is still under investigation. I hope, for competition reasons that thi...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Isn't the acquisition of Air Europa still under investigation by the European competition authorities ?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I agree with Jovan2. Whenever I may/can fly business class, I avoid SN (and perhaps also LX). There is indeed a holiday airline mindset among most SN cabin crew (maybe due to management and training). @Duke : you must have been luckier than me or the service has improved. One can always hope. It's b...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
Reopening the Satellite for aircraft and dis&embarking pax could be done in two ways imho. Either a minor renovation and dedicate it to low cost carriers ? Or a stylish renovation for full service airlines. Hey, Mr CEO ! Think of the return on investment from the rentals of the shops and food ou...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
The absence of a divider curtain is not justifiable. As said by another member, all other non low cost airlines have it. It cannot be a major/expensive investment. It is, in my opinion, a question of respect towards high yield customers. SN's business class on the A319/320 is also far below average ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
So, building a large office building and an extra hotel are BRU's priorities ? I must have missed something or is BRU no longer a real airport (but a Business District) ? In the end, BRU will become like LIS, a nightmare due to a lack a of political and commercial vision. We will end up taking the T...

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.
If you have time to explain it to a layman... (thx).
In any case, will Boeing still exist in five years from know ? They are in dire straits.

Talking about harmonization... Just out of curiosity, does anyone have an idea why SN and Eurowings are getting different engines than LH, LX and OS ?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
OK, I understood that SN is last in line when it comes to the Group's priorities. Hopefully, LH Group will not (be allowed to) acquire ITA. Otherwise, SN wil become N° 5 instead of N° 4. If OS got Embraers and LX A220's, there would be a business model (imho) for the E175-E2 or the A220-100 to fly t...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
It remains strange that Spohr launches news about Brussels to become a hub for USA to Africa traffic. UA.AC and SN have hardly 7 or 8 flights a day. SN flies mostly to french speaking countries in Africa. Not hot spots for US citizens... At the same time SN has to downsize European network, cancell...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
That is all long haul. I understand (correct me if I ma wrong) that allocating new or additional aircraft to airlines of the LH Group is a "Group" decision. My conclusion is, again, that the top managers of LH Group and SN do not see SN as a priority and do not recognize SN's needs both l...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
Difficult to understand why basic road maintenance works are not being done. (Would the commune of Zaventem or the Flemish Region be in charge of this ?).
And difficult to understand that there still is no proper drop off area and no upgrading of the arrivals taxis stand. Minor investments, I think.

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
Why should BRU be an exception when it comes to ban night flights when BER, FRA, MUC, GVA and ZRH have all five (different) restrictions on night flights. Taking the major airports for the LH Group, only VIE operates 24/24. I fully understand that night flights may be important for BRU, but sleep qu...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Good question, but I thought that OS's niche market was (far) Eastern Europe and the Balkans or is this a thing of the past ? (of course, it's not long haul). But what are LH and LX's niche markets ? I seem to remember forum members contributions saying there is a demand for a non-stop BRU BOS flig...
