AirPower 09 Air Show, Zeltweg, Austria

The following is a small photo report of the AirPower 09 Air Show held at Zeltweg Air Force Base in Austria. The last air show here was in 2005, and this year's show was visited by 280,000 people over two days. Small but sweet... the F-16 Fighting Falcon. This one is from the Belgian Air Force. http...

VIE-INN-FDH-BSL-INN-KLU-VIE on a Challenger 300

When my boss called me to ask whether I would be interested in joining a training flight on a Challenger 300, I of course didn't hesitate for even one nanosecond. Opportunities to go along on flights like these are rare. The flight would encompass six legs and the routing was as follows: Vienna - In...

Re: Colgan Air Q400, N200WQ crash (Continental Airlines flight)

Would this mean that the aircraft was doomed anyway, whether the normal de-icing systems were working or not? (hypothetically of course)

Re: Colgan Air Q400, N200WQ crash (Continental Airlines flight)

Link to the ATC recording of Buffalo Tower around the time the Continental Express Q400 crashed near Buffalo Airport on February 12. The crashed aircraft is Colgan 3407. Note the difference in the voice of the pilot between the transmission around minute 14:05 and the last transmission from the air...

That's correct, each aircraft has a different colour scheme. Then again, it's not an airline, it's a jet management company, so it's up to the aircraft's owner what colours he or she wants.

VIE 30/01/2009 -New Falcon 900EX EASy

Hi guys, My company recently received the newest addition to the fleet, a nice Dassault Falcon 900EX EASy. I went to the hangar today to take some pics of the new lady, but of course also photographed anything with wings in my view :-) Here is an impression: Meet OE-IOE http://www.aircraftspotting.n...

I would definitely recommend it!

And when you do, make sure to pay a visit to the Malta Aviation Museum.

VIE-ZRH-MLA-VIE on Air Malta

(Sorry that some pictures are cut off but this forum seems to do that... I upload my pics with a width of 800 pixels. If you'd like to see a picture in full size please send me a PM.) As I had never been to Malta before and I found some very good fares with Air Malta in November of last year, I book...

I also had understood these were a fixed assett in bizjets. Na, "fixed", let's say "firm", no, that's closer but no good yet, shall we say a "permanent" assett? I can tell you, my friend, they come in all shapes and sizes... (the one I had to serve me on this flight ha...

Vienna to Malaga on a Learjet (and back with Air Berlin)

I work as a Dispatcher for a business jet operator. Although the company is based in Vienna, our aircraft don’t come here very often. And if they do, it’s often with passengers on both inbound and outbound legs, which means we are not allowed to fly along. So when our Learjet 60 was ferried in from ...

Hi guys, Following my previous trip report about a trip to Innsbruck and Amsterdam ten days ago, I visited Innsbruck Airport a second time on the 29th of December, this time with much better weather conditions. I will let the pictures do most of the talking... En-route from Vienna on Niki's A319 OE-...

Innsbruck and Amsterdam with three airlines

Innsbruck, the spectacular Austrian airport located in a valley and surrounded by high mountains, had always been an expensive destination to reach by air from Vienna, with Austrian Airlines being the only provider of flights, until SkyEurope came along and slashed the prices on the route. Unfortuna...

Re: VIE-GVA-VIE with Baboo

Brussels-South is the first option for a low-cost carrier, as long as Brussels-Brussels has no low-cost terminal active. After flying with them I wouldn't say that Baboo is a low cost carrier. I think they started as an LCC, with the Q300s, but it looks like they positioned themselves somewhere bet...

VIE-GVA-VIE with Baboo

Dayroom hotel near Brussels Airport

Hi guys,

We have a late flight out of Brussels tomorrow, Monday 06 Oct and would like to have a low-priced dayroom to rest for a couple of hours before getting on the flight. I checked the Formule 1 but it is full. Any suggestions please for a place not too far from the airport? Thanks!

NUE 23-24/08/2008

Hi guys, I was spotting at the German airport of Nurnberg this past weekend (a.k.a. Nuremberg). It is a regional, middle-sized airport with a single runway. While there wasn't much traffic, the planes that passed my lens were certainly very interesting. The following is an impression... Now this is ...
