Flew BOS-PHL-BRU on 7/21 and yes 7/22
Howdy, I flew US on 7/21 and 7/22 BOS-PHL-BRU. How is this possible. The PHL-BRU flight, which was full, was cancelled at 2:30 AM on 7/21/07. USless gave three reasons: Lavatory problem, catering problem, and engine problem. The 7/22 flight was packed. The 7/21 flight must have been full as the loun...

It depends on the guard
Howdy, I traveled on TAP from BRU to LIS on 7/25. One guard let me go through with my yogurt. Another guard made me get rid of my yogurt. On the other hand in the US, they are real strict! All you need is a quart sized baggy. They sell these every where in Brussels. You can get travel containers at ...

I know two people who died in the World Trade Center who were on the AA flight from BOS to LAX. I suppose the plane did not crash into the North Tower?

The EU will never allow BA to take over BMI
There is not a chance that Brussels would every allow this. This would be a disaster for air travelers out of the UK.

Following American business practices. About time!
When will you Europeans wake up. You see in the US, here's how it works: 1. If a CEO screws-up, give him a BIG BONUS. 2. If a CEO does his job, give him a BIG BONUS. 3. Make sure you cut salaries of the employees to pay the BIG BONUS. American business rules at its best! Bill Konner Boston, Massachu...

Airline strategy
Howdy, Take a look at Midwest Express. Midwest Express is a small carrier based in Milwaukee and with it's Signature Service, provides an outstanding product that some will pay more for (including me). Midwest could never compete with Southwest or JetBlue. SN needs to think about its strategy. With ...

Let us not forget the most important airliner news from today is the landing of the A380 at JFK. The press conference from Boeing is just an attempt to reduce American press coverage on the A380. The first landing in North America was actually at LAX. Here's the video and story for the landing at L...

Subsequently a derivative (MD-90) was called Boeing 717. You mean the MD-95, wich became the 717. Does anyone else find 45 million USD a hell of a lot of money for an old(er) plane? You can almost get a new 737 or A320 for that money... Someone made a handsome profit with this deal. Due to export b...

How are they getting past the US export ban?
Howdy,
How are they getting past the US export ban? Hasn't that prevent Iranian companies from buying Airbus because of US technology incorporated in the aircraft and engines?

Is it wise to allow Russia to invest in Airbus
Hello, A couple of disclaimers: I am an American and a stock holder in Airbus. Airbus' parent company is more than a manufacturer of aircraft for the airline industry. It is also a manufacturer of military equipment. Is it wise for the EU, and the German and French governments to allow this? Certain...

I am not Belgian, but I think it is a stupid name. Why not rename all airlines to follow this trend? Air France would become Paris Airlines. British Airways would be London Airlines. Icelandair would be Reykjavik Airlines. Finnair would be Helsinki Airlines. And so on. There is only one name for a ...

Want to read a real story of survival?
Howdy,
Read Joe Sharkey's column (front page) from Tuesday’s (10/3/06) New York Times surviving the crash in Brazil last week. He was on the Embraer executive jet that collided with the 737. He lived but 155 on the 737 died.

Howdy,
The West's relationship with Russia is hot and cold. Will there be an embargo five or ten years from now? Will spare parts be available? Who knows? This may be a factor too.
