Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2018

Hi,

Not an abnormality as such. However it's been about a month the Hifly 'volvo ocean race' has been parked in Brussels. Anyone know why, and for how much longer? It must cost alot, no? Thanks

Re: Air Belgium in 2018

Hi,

1. Isn't AB bleeding money parking their planes like that? I assume these are leased birds?

2. I too saw it in the flesh yesterday. The second, all white A340 is parked closer to threshold of 07L. When will that one be stickered?

Thanks

CEO Gustin fired

Was reported on the radio tonight that he's fired, together with his deputy. Apparently they didn't see eye to eye with LH board on long term strategy. Is this where LH strips down SN and makes it a low cost subsidiary?

Don't sweat it! Vietnam won't happen. Warsaw, which serves a much bigger VN expat community was discontinued by LOT. If I'm not mistaken they now only do charters to SGN

Re: Captain I forgot to raise gear

I didn't know about that. Thanks. I would guesstimate layover was about 1 hour. Is that not enough to cool down brakes?

Re: 2 vs 3 pilots on Long haul

But I thought there might also be rest time, which is the most important factor, no? Those 2 flights are similar in flight time, but differently resourced

2 vs 3 pilots on Long haul

Hi

Checking out videos on YouTube, I see Swiss uses 2 pilots on a 10 hour flight to Miami from Zurich, whereas air France uses 3 from wuhan to Paris.

Are 2 pilots on long hail common?

Thanks

hold at Bru?

Hi,

Not a super regular flyer, but have never had to hold at Bru. Are these common? If so, I assume morning rush hour? But never even seen planes holding on flight radar 24 either.

Thanks

Re: Cathay Pacific has announced new direct non-stop routes to Brussels, Dublin and Copenhagen

I read on airlinersnet that CX is closing down Düsseldorf service to open Brussels connection. What are the chances of Cathay succeeds in Brussels, particularly as there are quite a lot of flights to Asia now So is it realistic for Asiana and Singapore to open connections to Brussels as well? In nut...

Re: BRU Summer 2018: news, new routes, airlines

On the latter, I don't see who would serve South America. Not sure SN can get its teeth into that market with so much competition around, save one/two discrete routes? So perhaps a South American airline opening a link to Brussels (maybe LATAM or AVIANCA?)

Engines on the A350

hI, i've overhead the A350 take off and climb a few times. Surprisingly, I find it is quite loud, almost on a par with a 737 or similar (older) aircraft, and very unlike the 787, or better yet the 777, both of which are pretty quiet. I would've thought roughly similar engines power the 350/777/787, ...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

Their website is ok, but you can tell there's alot of placeholders. Alot of info and PR lingo I wouldn't necessarily expect to see on an airline website (e.g. profile of key managers), save perhaps from a small startup, which AB appears to be. Also, I suppose website will be developed as time passes...
