Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
can echo the above, flew them last week on the Ljubljana sector which they started up within the month of the Adria demise: 90 plus load factor, both flights ahead of schedule, professional and friendly staff. flex and fast indeed no longer comes with a meal

Re: Adria Airways suspends operations for the next two days
If Adria collapses, is there a chance SN would take over the BRU-LJU flight? Wizzair is also ceasing its flight from Charleroi to Ljubljana.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
quite daring to put paintings on a plane's fuselage, congrats for that. Judging from the pictures, the interior looks stunning. A nice addition to the other themes! I hope the crews will be prepared, they are bound to get many questions on the meaning of the scenes portrayed

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
at least that is how I understand this sentence from https://www.exyuaviation.com/2018/11/adria-airways-to-acquire-fifteen-sukhoi.html "Commenting on the order, Adria's CEO said, “It is our pleasure to partner with Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company. They will completely support Adria's development ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Adria would use the CRJs for ACMI, the Sukhois would be for its own lines

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
It could indeed be a good idea for the Flemish government to be a small shareholder of BRU via one of its investment vehicles so that it has more insights into one of the main economic pools and it would be beneficial for the airport as well. The airport lies in Flanders which makes that region one ...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
And sadly enough, police "officers" at BRU are arrogant, unfriendly, lazy, and basically useless... ah generalisations, I tend to disagree. I never had a negative experience so far. And just a small quote from a former indian colleague when he heard I was Belgian... mmm Belgium, I only re...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
I think this interview with CS, which is really short, is not anti-Belgian as it was alluded to here. He is just clear about certain things like investments in SN planes but then again LH is also pretty clear about Austrian on the same matter (not in the same interview). Does that mean he is also di...

Re: BRU infrastructure: future
yes, MIVB-STIB operates a bus line from Schuman to the airport which also hails at NATO. When you leave the airport their station is on your left, then you have the bus to Antwerp, then De Lijn and then the transfers to the hotels. I think building an underground even though appealing is financially...

Re: BRU infrastructure: future
let us also hope that these passengers walking from the drop-off zone do not have to cross the bus station tracks anymore but have their own walking path. That would be safer. Another thing would be to make the entrance to the actual airport building there bigger. It is not built to accommodate for ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Given that some (or all?) of these are A340 and that Africa is a growth market for lh, wouldn't it make sense to have some SN (Eurowings?) flights from BRU with those planes to Southern Africa? I am thinking of Jo'burg, Mauritius to name a few. Surely there is a Belgian market for these type of (tou...

Re: Miles & more moving to revenue based system
I asked Brussels Airlines about the reason for such a difference. Here is their reply: Miles&More has indeed decided to make a split between the Hub carriers Swiss, Lufthansa and Austrian on one side and the Lufthansa Group carriers Eurowings and Brussels Airlines on the other side. This said...

Brussels Airlines in 2018
Brussels Airlines in 2017 Brussels Airlines in 2018 Article in De Tijd today: Gustin wants to cut costs further with 10 to 15% ''in the coming years''. In 2017 they were cut by 5 percent. Sn saved over the last three years 15 percent in operational costs (personnel, fleet harmonisation, better airp...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
So some second-hand planes to replace the other second-hand planes... Poor SN, clearly not important enough for LH for some real new planes... To some people, the glass really is always half empty, isn't it? according to 'De Tijd' the planes will be less than 10 years old (Cathay also has older one...

LJU-ZUR-BRU with Swiss: 20 Dec
As it seems according to Andre’s message in the section on to be discontinued flights, this LJU service of Swiss is about to be stopped, here is a brief review of my flight from December 20th . I am then one of the last customers to fly that route even though it is to my knowledge only 1 year Swiss ...

Re: Looking back to 2015
Hi, 45 legs this year which is probably a record for me but mostly short intra Europe flights Tokyo HAN, Split, Zagreb, Florence and Helsinki airports were new to me. The view on the endless AMUR river (Russia) on the flight back from Tokyo was amazing. This leg was on a 747-8, a new type to me, The...
