Re: SN aircraft intercepted by French Rafale last June
Some people seem to forget that they also have a social life, i.e. a family at home demanding their time too, which is logic. Never forget sleep deprivation due to cycling biorhythms is really hard to overcome on a short period of time. It takes a long time to recover from a few nights lost sleep du...

Additional question towards the atco's:
Why in heaven's hell the single runway ops 01 of this week?
What changed?

Re: BRU 12/03/2014 fog, airport closed for 1 hour, delays
Actually when you think about it, it is not really so much a grey area. if on the LIDO chart you read CAT3b 0 - 150R COMPANY it means your minimum RVR is 150m, you can perform a CAT 3 without DH procedure (or DH = 0). This implies the navigational facility is completely up to standards in term of pr...

Re: Ryanair passengers held hostage
Hi Sean, Just out of curiosity, doesn't ryanair have a dispatch centre (OCC) to help in these kind of 'out of pilots/cabin crew control' situations? They usually have a lot more resources to work with apart from a handling freq and a 'few' phone numbers... I honestly believe the situation escalated ...

Re: Ryanair in 2014
Great for RYR. Great idea as well from BRU airport to offer gates to Ryanair which will not be used. Very efficient way of fucking up everything you have been claiming to stand for. (Don't see EZY at the gates eh...) I still am very curious about the slots MOL is looking for... has anyone found any ...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
At the beginning of the year, SN claimed that the loss for 2013 would be between 0 and 20 million euros. At present, they speak of a 25-30 million loss with subsidies, 46 million without them ... Some discrepancy ! Indeed, but they had two costly strikes this year: one from the ground handlers, one...

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming
I've got news for you, too : there are A LOT of people who work A LOT LESS harder than pilots for A LOT MORE money....and they don't have the lifes of (hundreds) of people (including yours) in their hands. A train driver can have more than a thousand lifes in his hands; as far as I know, he is not ...

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming
Maybe you don't know that there is a very strict FTL scheme in Europe which ensures that all crew members are entitled to a satisfactory amount of rest in order to perform their duties. As for experience, that's not directly coupled to age. I've had the pleasure to fly with some extremely competent...

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming
I often wonder, if all you forum-managers believe to be so skilled in managing an airline, why arent you? I propose the name Luchtzak Lines, you can pay the pilots peanuts or better, have them pay you for being allowed to work... sounds great!

As far as I know there is no information from the talks that took place/are taking place today.
We met with both parties today to be 'informed' of the current state but this was 'pre-meeting' so at this time, no news.

Re: Dreamlifter with a problem...
If you fly a visual you should know your surroundings.
If you fly an instrument procedure, you should fly it accurately...
Not sure what happened here but those pilots will surely be very embarrassed...
I'm glad to see though no more damage was done...

Sean I understand you are loyal because you are happy with your conditions. But as you said your loyalty might change. And as some people above mentioned: leaving BRU is not as easy as it seems... I understand at RYR life is a dictatorship of the company, no questions asked... but I believe that is ...

I never meant to say all the reactions of the pax are arrogant, rather the short-sightedness of some IS. I just will not accept that because indeed the actions I make are directly reflected on the client I am not entitled to defend my rights. In my example it was the stupidity of a manager causing t...

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming
Romax I believe every strike has an impact. For some more important than for others. If you based your life decisive 'moment' to be dependant on any service provider, then you are taking a risk. You can NOT get any risk free services in this world, if you believe that you are a fool. What if the air...

Re: Brussels Airlines : pilots strike looming
I have a big problem with the fact that my management is continually lying to me in the most perfected way. I cannot trust this management. I will not trust this management anymore, for that they already did too much damage. I will fight for my rights. If fighting for my rights means that tomorrow I...

Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
Sorry but this is not about increasing capacity. It is about realising your savings on low leasing costs are backfiring on you due high mx costs (direct and indirect) Either you change your entire fleet, which they are not really keen on doing, or you add redundancy in your fleet. The way this is go...
