I actually quite like it. We've come to accept bland colour schemes (save for a few exceptions) with State aircraft, but there's no reason why they should be bland. This isn't bland at all, but not too outlandish at the same time. I think it strikes a nice balance.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Funny thing: according to the info I have/remember, that's as per the design drawing. It always struck me as odd, but the drawing showed that the "B" was to be open on the left hand side, and closed on the right hand side of the aircraft. (at least for A330)

07L/07R for now.
HA-KAD seems to be taxiing for another test flight as FAH734T.

No problem at all!
First of all, welcome to Aviation24!
It could well have been a Return to Base as well, it’s hard to judge. This is just my experience speaking ;-)

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2018

I wouldn't really call that an abnormality: The FR24 replay linked above seems an awful lot like a test flight, something TAY birds often do out of BRU. The erratic movement on FR24 also wouldn't be anything to worry about, chances are likely that the plane didn't even move in reality, but was just ...

Re: Selection day TUI fly Belgium

It’s been quite some time since I’ve been there, but basically the same rules apply as on most other interviews for jobs. During the group phase, make sure your voice is heard, but don’t stand out or dominate the conversation. If you have a time limit to accomplish something as a group, don’t be sca...

Re: VLM Airlines Brussels (ex-Thomas Cook) news 2018

I checked yesterday, couldn’t find any positioning flights from or to BRU with a Lufthansa callsign. I’ll see if I can come up with another creative way to find out whether they flew for DLH :-)

OOTCT flew as AFR380 from BRU on 17/04/18.

Re: VLM Airlines Brussels (ex-Thomas Cook) news 2018

I'm not quite sure about the sequence of events, I'm quite sure somebody else will be able to fill that in.
However, as far as I know, that last part is indeed correct: VLM Antwerp (SHS Aviation, I think) has nothing to do anymore with VLM Brussels.

Re: VLM Airlines Brussels (ex-Thomas Cook) news 2018

It certainly did fly an Air France flight, the flight number was AFR380 if I'm not misremembering. Although FR may have picked it up as a "HQ" flight, I'm 100% sure the callsign was AFRxxx.

That seems to be a mistake? No OO-IJX on the Belgian register. And even then, I'd be surprised to see EasyJet put an aircraft on the Belgian register anyway?

That would entirely depend on the terms of the contract they signed with Airbus and/or the engine owner/ maintenance provider.

Overheated Brakes after T/O would be unusual, slightly hot brakes after T/O could certainly happen, though.

Re: BRU infrastructure: future

Brussels Airport basically has been "A380 ready" for a long time. It was suitable as a diversion aerodrome, but not for regular operations, due to the lack of a proper A380 contact stand. If an A380 was to divert before, finding a stand for it might have been problematic, but BRU, in cooperation wit...

Re: Air Belgium in 2018

Departure in Brussels is now foreseen at 1640 local, arrival in Liege at around 1700 local indeed. So the aircraft is not routing Brussels (BRU)- Brussels (CRL), but BRU-LGG-CRL. As such, the times noted in the second flightplan (LGG-CRL) shouldn’t be taken into account, since the activation of that...
