Re: 2021 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news
The well known capacity issue during some hours might be a valid good reason to not expand LGG... Many plans were made to correct that... too slow ? Not sure what "well known" issues you're talking about... Rush hour at night are indeed busy but it would be the same at any other place, ev...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions
Some additional info... The base line is the lack of ATCO's that has been going on for the last 10 years and is reaching a peak now. I would like to add that there's a european regulation applicable end of 2019 - 2020 which will be even more restrictive on rostering, extra hours, consecutive shifts,...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi - Impact on Boeing 737 MAX
As a non-specialist, I don't see the logics in this. Is a ferried plane less likely to experience the same problem as in the 2 fatal accidents? Or is the life of pilots not as worthy as that of pax? Are the ferrying pilots better that those who so unfortunately died in those accidents? Can someone ...

Re: Belgian FIR quasi-closed during night 01-02/03
Those guys are abusing the system. Everyone knows that it was an organized manoeuvre: they all called sick on the same day! And guess what? They are untouchable! If the company sends them a doctor at home to check if they are really sick, they simply have to tell him that if he/she puts them back t...

Re: Air traffic control restrictions are getting out of control
On your first point, I am not so sure: it does not require a high degree of skill to plan human resources well in advance, according to estimated demand. And the increase in demand can certainly be estimated, it is verily the same thing every summer. It's just that ATCOs like to go on holidays at t...

Re: Air traffic control restrictions are getting out of control
Anyhow, it's every summer the same. less staff (holidays) and more flights (tourists) makes it difficult.

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
So in the end, did TUI pay for an A340, or did AB priced like a B737 (to have their airplane flying or for whatever reason) ?
It can't be so difficult to find a b737 or equivalent.

I got that, I just wanted to know, if TUI needs a B737, which is the case normally, they won't pay for an A340... (there must be a difference).

And Malaga ànd Chania, also for TUI: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/oo-abb Are they flying full load, or are they pricing it like a B737 or equivalent (+- 180 pax) ? ACMI is changed per hour or per flight, independent of the load. It is probably cheaper for TUI to pay the 340 than payi...

Re: 2018 Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL/EBCI) latest news
Hm, with all respect for your thoughts - and their honesty! - there are much busier airports that can and do perfectly handle VFR traffic. Even EBBR TWR handles a fair amount of helicopter* VFR traffic, both private and police. And whenever I hear an occurence there is no indication of stress or di...
