Actually i don't know if it'll work, but i think this could be some innovative thing in contrail spotting better idea is to buy a TeleVue Barlow...(2'' diametere obviously)

The difference between a pretty good barlow (televue) or a cheap one (soligor) is really evident, especially if you use the barlow for taking because because it's known that human eye can't see all image's imperfections like you do when you take a picture. BTW a collimation eyepiece works like a cap...

i have collimated my scope with laser and left scope outside to aclimatise with fan on back but, other than overhead, images are still out of focus on planes with barlow and primary mirror moved up from lowest position three quarter turns on screws next to collimation knobs at back of mirror. Well first thing to get good shots is to collimate perfectly your scope so if you're not able you have to learn how to collimate a newtonian scope. About camera setup what i can say is that you have to shoot at 1/800 or less. In contrail spotting there aren't so much tricks...it's almost all about e...
