Re: Cookies

I have a screenshot to upload but apparently it can only be uploaded if I first store it somewhere on the www - I have no such storage available at present.
Again, I no longer care very much. Thanks for your concern, though.

Re: Cookies

Dankuwel, Bart, but it is not an awful lot of help ;) Your picture is from a phone, but I am participating from a genuine PC, a PC mind you, not even a laptop. Running Firefox on top of Ubuntu. And the only options I get are "Learn more" or "Got it". Neither allow me to decline.

I do not find a way to decline all cookies? Am I missing something or will the option be added soon?

Re: English language skills and training

All that being said, this forum is perhaps not the best place for this kind of question. This forum is mainly about commercial air transport, plane spotting, and to some degree about airport infrastructure. Few actual aviators around, here. You might wish to visit www.pprune.org but take care to sel...

Image? IMAGE, you said? Really? Who has any budget for "image"?
If the required functionality is available, it is already a very good thing.

investment if profitable
Visit Amsterdam, and you can read, carved into a stone wall several centruries ago: "De kost gaat voor de baat uit" - cost goes before profit.

Re: English language skills and training

Excuse me for this very late reply. What your son needs first of all is simple general conversational English - that is what is supposed to be tested for ELP, too. If once basic English is available and workable, he should be able to take the various stages of pilot's training, learning aviation-spe...

Re: Blue Skies forever

Tony Van Grieken died on the 25th of January 2022. Tony was the first general manager (and co-founder?) of Delta Air Transport (DAT) in Antwerp. Mr Van Grieken was well known at Antwerp Airport in the days when Delta Air Transport started operations. Tony (a former military pilot, I seem to have he...

Airlines suspending or readjusting routes due to Coronavirus

Let's hope airlines show their goodwill now...
Hm, that sounds like a nice wish, I can only agree. Only, it seems that the highly competitive market leaves less and less room for goodwill. More's the pity, of course.

Airlines suspending or readjusting routes due to Coronavirus

As for the Geneva motor show being cancelled: that is just one more indication of the virus outbreak affecting the complete economy and the complete society, far beyond our little domain of (commercial) aviation. The impact on commercial air transport seems to be huge indeed, IATA publishes quite pa...

You better ask that of them rather than asking here. But at a wild guess, their answer could well be along the lines of "because that's where we can make money".

Re: Impact of the coronavirus on aviation

That might mean nobody cares which is precisely my point: this forum CLAIMS to be about ALL aspects of aviation but was never able to realise that. It would be more honest to style itself as "Airline forum" or "commercial air transport forum". As it is, the flag "aviation&q...

Re: Impact of the coronavirus on aviation

Why was the title of the thread modified? For the umpteenth time, "aviation" is much more than commercial air transport, and, as far as I can see, only commercial air transport is affected. Private aviation: no or little effect. There is very little of that in China, anyway. Military aviat...

Look how well we are working! Finding even the smallest imperfection! Yes, we may have been a bit kludgy yesterday, perhaps, just the faintest tad; today however everything is bright and shiny and perfect!
