On the eve of the summer period, all lights are green at Bordeaux Airport: a promising start to the year has seen a 9.6% leap in traffic, driven by international services. The Summer 2017 programme launching on 26 March aims to further increase this trend, with 10% extra scheduled services compared to last year: 104 direct flight destinations (86 scheduled services and 18 charter destinations), including 15 new services.
Major international hubs, with many European destinations, as well as a full range of domestic flights – for this summer period, departing from Bordeaux promises to be vibrant experience.
15 new regular services and 8 new destinations.
Low cost flights continue their conquest of Bordeaux.
With 8 new destinations, making up 60% of new flights for the 2017 Summer season, low cost flights are continuing their development at Bordeaux Airport – with a total of 12 airlines and 65 low-cost destinations on offer to New-Aquitainians.
This increase in services is marked by the arrival of two major airlines to develop the East European market: Blue Air to Bucharest, and Wizz Air to Budapest.
With 2 new services, Malta and Santorini, as well as Madrid alongside the services of Iberia and Iberia Express, Volotea takes the lead in terms of new destinations. As early as April, the airline will operate their flights in Boeing A319’s in order to increase seating capacity on 15 of their 26 flights.
Easyjet is hot on their heels, allowing travellers to fly to Hamburg 3 times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and adding a new service to Mallorca (in addition to Volotea and Vueling). In total, Easyjet is operating to 21 destinations.
5 new airlines have come to Bordeaux
Bordeaux Airport is pleased to welcome 5 new airlines to its tarmac for this new Summer season.
-Lufthansa, the German national airline, will launch its new connection to Frankfurt on 2 April 2017, allowing travellers to reach their biggest international hub every Thursday and Sunday, all year round. The airline has prices starting at €119 for a return flight.
-Air Corsica, a French airline, will offer direct flights to Ajaccio and Calvi. As of 2 July, it will be possible to fly with this airline every Wednesday and Sunday, from 69€ one way.
-Blue Air, the largest Romanian airline, will offer direct flights to Bucharest from Bordeaux as of 3 June 2017. The airline will operate 2 flights a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from €29.99 one way, offering an opportunity to discover this beautiful country, and its cultural and artistic capital.
– Aigle Azur, a French airline, returns to Bordeaux to offer flights to Algiers for the Summer season, in addition to the existing service operated by Air Algérie. As of 16 June, it will be possible to fly with this airline every Friday.
-Wizz Air, the biggest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, will launch flights to Budapest, the capital of Hungary, from 22 September 2017 onwards, twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. Prices for discovering this wonderful destination start at €24.99.
Certain airlines will be increasing the frequency of their connections.
Others are increasing the length of their programmes or plane capacity.
Note that 15 destinations operated by Volotea will run using Airbus319 (replacing B717) as of April, as will all flights to Ajaccio by Hop!, Air France.
New Aquitaine – connected to the whole world
The long-haul direct flight from Bordeaux to Montreal with Air Transat will begin again from 5 May onwards for the summer season, with two flights a week (Wednesday and Friday).
Each week, 251 flights connect New Aquitaine to the rest of the world via main intercontinental hubs. Access to European hubs allows for hundreds of long haul flights via 13 international airports accessible from Bordeaux, including Paris Charles de Gaulle (Air France), Amsterdam (KLM), Casablanca (Royal Air Maroc), Frankfurt (Lufthansa), Istanbul (Turkish Airlines), Lisbon (TAP), London (British Airways) or Madrid (Iberia).
Bordeaux Airport is offering 18 charter flight destinations.
In addition to its 86 regular destinations, the Summer programme is complemented by 18 charter flight destinations, allowing even more choice when flying direct from Bordeaux.
Launch of our parking modernisation plan from July 2017 onwards, with very competitive parking fees by online booking.
Beginning in July 2017, Bordeaux Airport will lay the ground for a renovation and modernisation project for its parking facilities, in order to increase the standard of service, and allow easier access and parking for the airport platform (schedule to be released soon).
Around 6 million passengers pass through every year and Bordeaux Airport is therefore introducing attractive pricing for parking places that can be booked only on bordeaux.aeroport.fr. By booking in advance, especially during peak periods, the passenger will be sure to have a parking space before boarding their flight, in the car park of their choice.
At the moment, week-end parking on lots P0 Confort, P1 Proxi and P2 Flexi is available on our website for €28 for 3 days. The prices for long stays on lot P4 are reduced by up to 15%, when booked online, for stays of 4 to 8 days.
A series of promotions through the year will decrease the price of a week’s parking on lot P4 to €10 thanks to a promotion code. A “Holiday Special” programme will also soon be implemented, further lowering prices by up to 40% on lot P2 for a defined period. These special offers are advertised on the airport website and Facebook page.
