After an excellent start to the year, buoyed by strong international passenger numbers, the airport is further enriching its flight schedule for the Spring/Summer season: direct flights to 100 destinations (78 regular services and 22 charter destinations), with 12 new services. The airport’s network of flights continues to expand, adding services to destinations sure to appeal to the residents of the newly-formed Aquitaine – Poitou-Charentes – Limousin region, while also bringing in more French and international tourists.
12 new services and 8 new destinations
Three new lines from Chalair Aviation will further expand our range of French destinations, adding Caen, Montpellier and Perpignan to the company’s existing services to Brest (3 flights/day) and Rennes (2 flights/day).
EasyJet continue to expand their services from Bordeaux, adding a major new destination in the form of Berlin along with 3 new flights to Marseille, Barcelona and Venice, adding to the services already operated by rival airlines (Air France/Hop to Marseille, Vueling to Barcelona and Volotea to Venice).
ASL Airlines, which already offers a Bordeaux/Vienna service, will now also be flying to Hamburg, a key destination for both business travellers and tourists. This year three German cities are just a flight away from Bordeaux (including Munich with Volotea).
Volotea will also be launching three new services, with flights to Alicante, Faro, and Split for Summer 2016: perfect holiday destinations for some guaranteed summer sun!
A new Madrid service will also be available with Iberia’s budget airline: Iberia Express.
Bordeaux is well connected to destinations throughout Europe, with over 70 direct flights to cities in 20 European countries.
In the peak period, particularly during the summer months, these companies are competing to keep up with the strong demand from local holiday-makers as well as the influx of tourists.

Every week, 181 flights connect the south-west of France to the rest of the world via the major international hubs
Connections to the biggest European hubs put hundreds of long-haul destinations within easy reach of Bordeaux, with links to 16 major international airports including Paris Charles de Gaulle (Air France), Amsterdam (KLM), Casablanca (Royal Air Maroc), Istanbul (Turkish Airlines), Lisbon (TAP), London (British Airways), Madrid (Iberia).
The seasonal long-haul service from Bordeaux to Montréal (Air Transat) will start up again on 6 May, with two flights per week throughout the summer.
N.B. Since 15 March 2016, passengers visiting or passing through Canada need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), which they can request online via the Canadian government’s website: www.canada.ca.
22 destinations available from Bordeaux Airport via charter flights
The airport will also be offering charter services to 22 holiday destinations in 12 different countries, including a cruise through the fjords of Norway, departing from Rostock.
A new lounge opening in April
Located on the 2nd floor of Hall A, looking out over the runway, this new lounge will be open to frequent flyers with the airlines based in this terminal. (Press release coming soon)
Event Calendar
Bordeaux will be hosting a number of major events this year, and the airport’s teams will be strengthened accordingly. Euro 2016 will see a major influx of passengers in June, with 5 matches set to be played at the city’s new stadium. We will have a special team in place to help welcome players and supporters.
Also in June, the Wine Festival is expected to attract around 140,000 international visitors.
