The number of passengers carried by TAP to Ponta Delgada and Terceira in the Azores during the first half of 2015 increased by more than five thousand, a rise of more than 7%.
The biggest growth was on the Ponta Delgada route, where TAP has greatly enhanced its service following liberalisation, which has resulted in an accumulated growth in the number of passengers carried of more than 43% – or 10,000 people – compared to the same period in the previous year.
In order to meet the growth in demand for our network’s destinations on the Azores, TAP is increasing the number of seats to Terceira by using larger aircraft and by offering an additional flight to Ponta Delgada during August.
During each day of August TAP will operate an average of two flights to Terceira and one to Ponta Delgada from Lisbon.
