A call for strike action by several French air traffic controllers’ unions will disrupt air traffic from Wednesday 8 to Thursday 9 April 2015. The DGAC (French Civil Aviation Authority) has requested airlines to adapt their flight schedule on departure from and arrival at certain French airports.

A call for strike action by several French air traffic controllers’ unions will disrupt air traffic from Wednesday 8 to Thursday 9 April 2015. The DGAC (French Civil Aviation Authority) has requested airlines to adapt their flight schedule on departure from and arrival at certain French airports.

LONG-HAUL AND MEDIUM-HAUL FLIGHTS TO/FROM PARIS – CHARLES DE GAULLE
Air France expects to transport all its customers on long-haul flights to and from Paris.
– Air France will operate almost all its long-haul flights
– Air France will operate over 60% of its medium-haul flight schedule
SHORT-HAUL FLIGHTS
On the short-haul network on departure from Orly and French airports, major traffic disruptions are to be expected. Last-minute delays and cancellations are also to be expected. The Company recommends customers to postpone their trip to 10 April, at no extra cost.

– HOP ! Air France will operate 60% of flights on departure from and arrival at French airports
Airport teams and commercial staff remain mobilized to inform customers and minimize the inconvenience this strike action may cause.
The Company will update its flight schedule for Thursday 9 April on Wednesday 8 April.
CONSULT FLIGHT INFORMATION
In case of a cancellation or delay, Air France offers the AF Connect service to directly inform customers on their mobile phone, smartphone or by email using their personal contact details provided to the airline. The free AF Connect service is available in 13 languages for all passengers worldwide.
In order to be personally notified by AF Connect, Air France invites customers to update their personal contact details (mobile phone and /or email address) in their reservation file on the airline’s website. Air France will then be able to inform them personally by e-mail or SMS in case of a disruption to their flight.
In all cases, customers are recommended to check information on the flight schedule, updated in real time, before going to the airport:
• at www.airfrance.fr, in the “Flight schedules” section.
• on the mobile.airfrance.com website or Air France iPhone, Android Windows Phone and Blackberry apps
• by SMS by texting your flight number to 63654 (example: AF6250).
POSTPONE YOUR TRIP
Air France offers its customers booked on short and medium-haul flights the possibility to postpone their flight at no extra cost between 10 and 15 April 2015:
• at www.airfrance.com, in the “view/modify your bookings” section
• by calling the dedicated number :

RYANAIR STATEMENT RE FRENCH ATC STRIKE
“Ryanair regrets to inform customers that it has been forced to cancel over 250 flights on Wednesday (8th Apr) due to a French Air Traffic Control strike. Further cancellations and delays are likely and customers should check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport on the Ryanair.com website, where the latest information will be published. We sincerely apologise to all customers affected by this unwarranted strike action and we call on the EU and French authorities to take measures to prevent any further disruption. It’s grossly unfair that thousands of European travellers will once again have their travel plans disrupted by the selfish actions of a tiny number of French ATC workers. All affected customers have been contacted by email and text message and advised of their options (full refund, free transfer onto next available flight or free transfer onto an alternative flight routing).”
