Iranian airline Qeshm Air places order for 10 Boeing 737 MAX

Qeshm Air, the Iranian airline that today launched a weekly flight between Tehran and Brussels has placed an order to buy 10 Boeing 737 MAX, Iranian press reports.

Mahmoud Shekarabi, Qeshm Air CEO told Fars News agency that the contract will be signed within the next two months, another purchase of 5 Boeing 737-800 aircraft is also on the agenda.

Earlier this week Zagros Airlines and Iran Airtour signed MoU’s for over 70 new Airbus aircraft, both for domestic and international flights.

According to estimates from the Iranian civil aviation authority, the country’s airlines will need to purchase between 400 and 500 new planes over the next decade.
