Strike by Lufthansa pilots union Vereinigung Cockpit from 12.00 on December 1st to 23.59 on December 2nd
Passengers are advised to check the status of their flight prior to departure via the internet at https://www.lufthansa.com/de/en/My-Bookings and to take advantage of available rebooking options. We strongly advise passengers whose flight has been cancelled due to the strike not to travel to FRA. Current flight information and a list of cancelled flights will be available at www.lufthansa.com.
Flights of other airlines will operate as scheduled; we do not expect further operational disruptions.
The pilots union Vereinigung Cockpit has announced a strike for all Lufthansa short-haul and continental flights departing between 12.00 CEST on December 1st to 23.59 CEST on December 2nd, and for all intercontinental flights departing between 03:00 CEST to 23:59 CEST on December 2nd. During the strike period disruptions of Lufthansa flights are expected. Lufthansa is currently working intensely on a special timetable for the strike period. All flights operated by the Lufthansa Group airlines Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Germanwings, SWISS and Air Dolomiti (operated by OS, SN, 4U, LX, EN) will not be affected.

2. Your options
a) Rebooking/Travel alternatives
Passengers, whose flights have been cancelled, can rebook free of charge to alternative flights. Please check the status of your booking at My Bookings. Here you might already find alternative flights for which you may be able to check in.
Lufthansa passengers who have booked their tickets through a tour operator or travel agent are requested to contact the office through which the ticket was booked.
If your flight has not been cancelled and you are holding a Lufthansa/SWISS/Austrian Airlines or Brussels Ticket for flights from/to/via Frankfurt, Munich, and Düsseldorf on December 1st -2nd you can rebook your ticket once free of charge online at My bookings.
The following conditions have to apply:
Rebooking within same booking class:
– Tickets must be issued on/before 30.11.2014
– New date of travel must be on/before March 01st, 2015
– Change of origin/destination and class of service/compartment is not permitted
– All other ticket conditions must be observed as per original ticket
Affected passengers, who cannot use the online self-service, please contact our Service Center on 0800 850 60 70*. Callers from outside Germany should phone their local Lufthansa phone numbers.

b) Use of Deutsche Bahn
Passengers travelling within Germany whose flights have been cancelled due to the strike may alternatively travel by train with Deutsche Bahn. To do this, please exchange your etix for a train ticket online oder mobile under My bookings.
If you do not have the time to exchange your ticket online or at the machine, we recommend you purchase a regular train ticket.
There may be increased passenger volumes on trains of the Deutsche Bahn. You can receive current travel information under Deutsche Bahn or on your mobile phone via m.bahn.de.
