This summer Eurowings passengers can fly cheaply long-haul to Las Vegas. For decades, the fascinating city in the desert state of Nevada has been one of the most important destinations for holidaymakers to the USA. The inaugural flight took off from Cologne/Bonn airport on time on 2 June 2017, further strengthening the long-haul offering of Eurowings, currently Europe’s fastest growing airline, alongside an extremely extensive offering in Europe. Only a few days ago, the quality low-cost airline opened its first location in a non-German-speaking country on the island of Mallorca. This year the airline has already launched from Salzburg and Munich with its own aircraft stationed there.

Oliver Wagner, CEO of Eurowings:

In addition to our European offering, we are now growing consistently and also very successfully in the only just emerging low-cost long-haul market. More than 40 million people visit the fascinating city of Las Vegas every year – and hopefully in the future more and more of them will touch down there with Eurowings.

Flight days for the Las Vegas route with Eurowings are Friday and Monday. The route will be operated with a comfortable long-haul Airbus A330 and it goes without saying for Eurowings that there will be in-flight Internet and WINGS Entertain, the leading in-flight entertainment system, to keep passengers happy. Flights are available in the three rate classes BASIC, SMART and BEST, with Eurowings customers deciding themselves which comfort features they want to make use of for their trip to the USA.

Eurowings will operate a direct flight on the Cologne/Bonn – Las Vegas (CGN – LAS) route during the summer season up to 7 November 2017 with prices starting from EUR 199 for a single ticket. This can be combined with competitively priced connecting flights from and to a large number of other airports in Germany and Europe as a fast transfer connection via Cologne/Bonn. All flights can be booked on the Internet at www.eurowings.com or via the Eurowings app.

Las Vegas, sin city, is certainly one of the most attractive and most popular destinations for German holidaymakers in the USA. The city, situated in the desert of the US state of Nevada, became an important stopover for wagon trains and railways in the 19th century due to its groundwater resources. Construction of the Hoover dam at the beginning of the 20th century and the legalisation of gambling in Nevada laid the foundation stone of today’s entertainment metropolis. The first hotels and casinos, for which Las Vegas is still famous today, were built from this point on. Las Vegas offers visitors a fascinating world of glitz and glamour which is characterised mainly by a large number of legendary casinos.
