Brussels Airlines expands its offer with seven new destinations offer this winter season. Accra (Ghana), Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Zagreb, Bremen, and Billund are new additions to the winter timetable. Next to the new routes, the flight frequencies to several African destinations in the Brussels Airlines network will increase.
25 October marks the beginning of the winter season in the aviation industry. During this winter season, which lasts until 26 March, Brussels Airlines will operate an average of 669 flights a week to European destinations. That’s 27 more flights compared to the winter 2014-2015. On the long-haul network, an average of 80 flights a week is scheduled to be operated.
Accra, new long haul destination
This winter Brussels Airlines launches four flights a week to Accra, the capital of Ghana, one of the fastest growing African countries. Flights will depart in Brussels in the morning and out of Accra in the evening, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Accra is the 12th West African destination operated by Brussels Airlines.
The airline’s West African flight offer is also extended this winter thanks to additional flight frequencies: Lomé (Togo) will be offered four times instead of two times a week out of Brussels. The flights to Freetown (Sierra Leone) and Monrovia (Liberia) are increased from two to four flights a week. Cotonou (Benin) and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) will be served three instead of two times weekly.
United States
The entire winter Brussels Airlines continues its daily flights to New York. Like last year, the seasonal service to Washington D.C. is suspended during the winter season. In cooperation with United, passengers are offered flights to more than 50 American destinations.
Six new European winter destinations
Compared to last winter season Brussels Airlines adds six new destinations to its winter network this year. There’s good news for winter sun holidaymakers, as the Canary Islands Tenerife and Las Palmas/Gran Canaria will be served twice a week.
Also those who want to enjoy the gentle climate of the Portuguese Algarve can now travel with Brussels Airlines. The airport of Faro – a popular summer destination – will also be operated during the winter season from now on. Direct flights to Faro/Algarve are planned in November, February and March.
With Bremen Brussels Airlines adds an important North German trading center to its network. The Hanseatic city, which wasn’t directly accessible from Brussels so far, is now connected to Brussels Airport five times a week. After a successful launch this summer, Billund is another addition in the winter offer, and is served twice daily.
Finally Brussels Airlines expands its European offer with six weekly flights to Zagreb, the capital of the youngest EU member Croatia.
New lounge in Kinshasa
During the winter season Brussels Airlines moves to the new airport terminal in Kinshasa. Early next year the airline will also open a brand new Business Class lounge at Kinshasa airport. Business Class passengers can expect a very comfortable setting and will be offered free use of tablets during their stay in the lounge.
Ski destinations
Brussels Airlines offers once again flights to many well-known European ski resorts, including Geneva, Turin, Toulouse, Lyon and Milan. Those looking for more off the beaten track slopes, can fly to Vilnius, (Liepkalnis), Riga, Krakow (Zakopane), Malaga (Sierra Nevada ski zone), Zagreb (Medvenica Ski Resort) or Oslo (Oslo Winterpark Tryvann).
