Brussels Airlines welcomed 11.5 percent more passengers in April

During the month of April, which includes the Easter period, Brussels Airlines again registered a passenger growth. In total 11.5 percent more passengers flew on a Brussels Airlines flight compared to the same month last year. The occupancy rate increased to 73.9 percent.

Brussels Airlines continues its strong growth pace in April. During the first month of the aviation summer season, 652,532 passengers flew a Brussels Airlines flight to a European, African or American destination. This is an increase of 67,055 compared to April 2014.

The seat load factor increased by 1 percentage point and amounted to 73.9 percent.

During the month of April, the airline launched flights to Billund, St Petersburg, Dubrovnik and Bordeaux. Several existing destinations which are not served during the winter season have returned to the network (Washington, Catania, Palermo, Faro, Malta, Seville, Porto, Naples, Florence, Athens).

In addition to its scheduled flight activity, Brussels Airlines operated many holiday flights for tour operators, meeting and incentive agencies and sports clubs. Passenger figures for these charter activities are not included in the monthly figures of this press release.
