LOT launched another new destination in the USA! This time the Polish carrier inaugurated a direct flight to Newark, the second largest New York City airport. Newark is the second long-haul connection to North America (after Los Angeles) launched by LOT this month. Flights from Warsaw are to be operated at first 4 and then 5 times a week.

The Warsaw-Newark flights are scheduled for Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The take-off time at the Warsaw Chopin Airport is scheduled for 11:35 am and the landing time at Newark Liberty International Airport is 15:20 pm (local time). The return flight is scheduled for 17:05 pm with the landing time in Warsaw at 7:50 am the next day. The flights will be operated 4 times a week. Starting from August the fifth flight is to be added on Tuesdays.

Newark is LOT’s fifth destination in North America and the second long-haul connection to USA launched this month. It is a new flight dedicated especially to Polish passengers, including Polish Americans who make up a high percentage of the inhabitants of Newark.

We have seen huge potential of passenger traffic from Poland to Newark that has not been taken advantage of. Right after JFK, Beijing, Toronto and Chicago, Newark is the fifth most popular direction as regards long distance flights among Poles. Annually approximately 70 thousand passengers from all over Poland travel on that route! That figure clearly demonstrates that actually reinstating Newark among the Polish national airlines’ destinations is a necessity,”

says Rafa? Milczarski, LOT’s CEO.

Newark is the second largest central airport of the New York City and a major hub for the neighbouring states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Thus LOT has a chance to reach those passengers who so far have not been planning to travel on Polish Dreamliners to Poland and Europe. In that way not only will the new connection complement the flights to JFK but it will also become LOT’s opportunity to acquire new customers.

That connection enables passengers to travel quickly and conveniently to their homeland, including Poles travelling from Newark and passengers of various nationalities who have already discovered that LOT’s hub is competitive in the Central and Eastern Europe. We count on significant interest in our services among passengers from Ukraine, Hungary, Roumania, Belarus as well as Israel who are frequent travellers on that route,”

adds Rafa? Milczarski.

LOT assumes that thanks to a convenient schedule the passengers travelling by LOT will have access to an extensive network of flights to other US destinations. Thanks to the flights to Newark and JFK Airport, the passengers travelling to NYC by LOT will have access to two flights nearly every day. This month LOT has also launched a direct flight to Los Angeles, in that way increasing the number of flights to North America.

The Warsaw-Newark flights will be initially operated by the rented Boeing 767-300 in two travel classes: Business Class and Economy class. Beginning in August the route will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner with a three-class configuration: LOT Business Class, LOT Premium Economy and LOT Economy.

The announcement of the connection to Newark is part of LOT’s profitable growth strategy that the airlines have been implementing since the early 2016. In total, the Polish carrier has launched as many as 27 new routes.
