A Kenya Airways Boeing 737-800 was severely damaged last night at Nairobi airport after a tow truck incident.
The Boeing 737-800 registered 5Y-KYF was expected to operate flight KQ764 to Johannesburg but during pushback of the aircraft from the bay the tow truck damaged part of the fuselage and engine.
In a statement Kenya Airways confirmed that there were no injuries, the flight was cancelled to allow further investigations and all passengers were accommodated on other flights.
The airline ended the statement by committing to the safety of its guests and employees and to the integrity of its operations.
