A Jet2.com A330 tire burst on Tenerife South runway forces airport to close and 24 aircraft to divert

A Jet2.com Airbus A330-200 registered G-VYGL and operating flight LS917 from Manchester got damaged on the runway at Tenerife South (TFS) airport on Tuesday 27 June.

Twenty-four aircraft had to divert, mainly to LPA, but also to LIS, ACE, TFN, FAO.

The airport remained closed for 6 hours.

Two tires on the right hand main landing gear were burst, as seen on the image.

TUI fly Belgium Boeing 737-800 registered OO-JAQ operating flight TB/JAF 2113 BRU- TFS diverted to Faro, Portugal.
