UPDATE: STRIKE THREAT HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN
Finnish Aviation Union’s strike threat for 19 and 20 May has been withdrawn. The strike threat was related to a dispute of a collective labour agreement applied to a Finnish ground handling company. Finnair was not a party to the dispute in any way.
Customers who have changed their flights due to the strike threat can, if they wish, change their flights back to original flights. Any changes must be done before the departure of the new flight.
Finnish Aviation Union has issued a strike warning for May 19 and 20, 2015. The possible strike relates to a dispute between unions, and Finnair is in no way party to this dispute. If implemented, the FAU strike would clearly impact Finnair flight operations and some flights would be cancelled. At this point we are unfortunately unable to estimate what the impacts would be.
To minimize the inconvenience to our customers, customers can change flights once free of charge:
Original travel dates are May 19 or 20New travel dates are between May 15 and June 16 (excluding May 19 and 20)Ticket can also be changed to another Finnair operated destination. In that case higher fare difference will be charged, lower fare difference will not be refunded.

If the strike threat is not withdrawn, Finnair is forced to cancel many of its flights on 19 and 20 May to avoid a situation where thousands of customers would be stranded at Helsinki Airport when their connecting flights cannot be operated. First cancellations will be made for certain flights for Monday evening 18 May, and we will publish a list of the cancelled flights here on Sunday afternoon. Decisions on cancellations for Tuesday will be made on Monday, and decisions on cancellations for Wednesday on Tuesday.
Finnair will inform customers of these cancellations via short messages and email. Please check from Manage booking that we have your current contact information. If the flight is cancelled, you will get a refund of your ticket. We will also do our best to reroute passengers to their destination.
