As booking gets under way, most flights can be purchased for as little as EUR 29.99 including all taxes, fees and charges. One highlight of the new route network is yet another intercontinental flight departing from Cologne/Bonn. From the end of October, Eurowings will fly to Cape Town, South Africa’s second largest city. The city already welcomes more than seven million tourists a year and the trend is rising. Visitors are especially drawn to the V&A Waterfront with its bars and restaurants. Currently under construction is a canal that will link the former port area of the city to the centre and will enable boat trips from the harbour directly to the northern district as far as the Nico Malan theatre complex.
For many visitors from Germany, Cape Town is the starting point for a journey through South Africa, one of the most fascinating regions on earth. A Eurowings Airbus A330 will fly the long-haul route from Cologne/Bonn to South Africa every Sunday with the return flight leaving on Monday.
In addition to the existing attractive route network which links many airports in Europe and offers an extremely interesting long-haul network out of Cologne/Bonn, the airline is also adding a large number of new flights that can now be booked for the first time.
There are new routes to and from Salzburg for example. The airline now flies from London-Stanstead, Birmingham and Manchester in the UK to Salzburg in Austria.
Also new from Cologne/Bonn are the European flights to Grenoble and Innsbruck – the latter will be released for booking shortly. And with the addition of Cape Town, another intercontinental destination is also being offered out of Cologne/Bonn.
New Eurowings flights taking off from Düsseldorf in the coming winter will fly to Zagreb in Croatia and Marrakesh in Morocco as well as Hurghada in Egypt (the route will be released for booking shortly).
The new location in Munich is one of the focal points for expansion of the winter flight schedule. The new destinations added to the route network from here are Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, in addition to Marrakesh in Morocco and Skopje in Macedonia. In the next few days, it will also be possible to book flights from the Bavarian capital to the other new destinations of Barcelona, Hurghada and Lisbon.
Development of Lufthansa’s second brand, Eurowings, is making rapid progress. The quality low-cost carrier is currently one of the world’s fastest growing airlines. In January, Eurowings opened a new location in Salzburg, at the end of March the airline will launch its service from Munich with more than 30 new routes using the multi-award winning Terminal 2, and in May it will begin stationing four aircraft in Palma de Mallorca, its first hub in a non-German speaking country. At the same time, Eurowings is continuing to develop the existing hubs in Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Berlin, Hanover and Dortmund and is consistently expanding the offering of intercontinental routes from or via Cologne/Bonn airport.
The Eurowings brand name stands for maximum customer comfort and convenience, an outstanding price/performance ratio, exceptional creativity within the product and great innovative strength. Eurowings has a technology-leading in-flight entertainment system in the guise of WINGS Entertain, which is accessible via the passenger’s personal smartphone, tablet or laptop. Over the course of the year, virtually all the aircraft in the fleet will be equipped with WINGS Connect – a broadband Internet connection. The airline’s reliability and punctuality, the attractive route network and high level of customer satisfaction are increasingly making the quality low-cost carrier the airline of first choice for more and more customers.
