Eurowings in South Germany offers a world of gift ideas

It’s the final countdown: the German airline Eurowings is coming to Munich airport. Tickets for 32 new low-cost routes will go on sale from Thursday (22/12.), perfect as last-minute presents. The quality low-cost airline from the Lufthansa Group will really take off in South Germany from March 2017. Eurowings will station four Airbus A320 jets in Munich ready for the launch of the summer flight schedule and from then on will offer a large selection of the most attractive European destinations at low prices. The new destinations include popular holiday spots in Italy, Greece, Portugal and Spain (among others Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca) but also major cities such as London, Paris and Rome. The new routes starting from as little as EUR 29.99 can be booked from tomorrow (Thursday, 22 December 2016): on the Internet at www.eurowings.com or in the Call Center by calling +49 (0)180 6 320 320. So this year for the first time, there could be a lot of low-cost Eurowings flight tickets from and to Munich under a large number of Christmas trees. Experts know that early bookers secure access to the best and cheapest deals.
With the introduction of 32 new connections, the airport, which serves over a million people in the Bavarian capital, will be much influenced by the new Eurowings in 2017. The airline is already strongly represented at many German airports, for example at its home airport of Cologne/Bonn as well as in Hamburg, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Hanover, but never before has Eurowings launched from a standing start with four aircraft at a new base. In future the airline will offer 89 weekly flights from Munich airport, which is located in the Erdinger Moos area to the northeast of Munich, and in the summer period 2017 is already expecting around 400,000 Eurowings passengers to pass through the airport doors.

Our course, building a leading European quality provider in the market for affordable direct flights, will receive a huge boost in 2017 thanks to the new base in South Germany.
Eurowings (currently 39 aircraft) announced last week that it would be leasing 33 additional aircraft from Air Berlin together with cockpit crews and cabin staff for a period of six years. And in addition, a few days ago the Lufthansa Group clinched its complete acquisition of Brussels Airlines. The Belgian airline which currently operates 15 aircraft will also become part of the growing Eurowings Group.

The 32 new routes which the quality low-cost carrier is offering from Munich include holiday and short break destinations in addition to city destinations that are equally attractive to both private and business travellers. In detail they are: Amsterdam (6 flights a week), Paris/Charles de Gaulle (6 connecting flights a week), Geneva (6/week), London-Stansted (6/week), Basel (5/week), Edinburgh (5/week), Nice (5/week), Rome (5/week), Thessaloniki (4/week), Naples (3/week), Pula/Croatia (3/week), Zadar (3/week), Catania (2/week), Dubrovnik (2/week), Faro (2/week), Glasgow (2/week), Heraklion (2/week), Kavala/Greece(2/week), Crete (2/week), Lamezia Terme/Italy (2/week), Mykonos (2/week), Olbia/Sardinia (2/week), Palermo (2/week), Rhodes (2/week), Bastia (1/week), Cagliari/Sardinia (1/week), Ibiza (1/week), Corfu (1/week), Porto (1/week), Brindisi/Italy (1/week), Kos (1/week). Flights will leave Munich for Palma de Mallorca every Saturday – as a supplement to the service using the Eurowings jets stationed in Palma.
At Eurowings passengers can choose between three fare classes BASIC, SMART and – on selected routes – BEST. The fare classes each include different service packages. The BEST fare is offered to discerning private customers who value comfort and exclusivity. This package includes a high level of seat comfort with lots of leg room in the exclusive front section of the cabin. The BEST fare also includes a luggage allowance of two items each up to 23 kg, à-la-carte menu on board, priority check-in, lounge access and the option to earn miles (incl. HON Circle miles). The cheaper SMART fare includes additional services such as one item of luggage up to 23 kg, a snack and soft drinks on board as well as the option to earn miles and lounge access for higher status Miles & More customers.
The BASIC fare offers the pure travel experience at an affordable price to which other services can be added individually.
