Egyptair flight MS955 from Cairo to Bejing rejected take-off due to failure of the left engine.

The Airbus A330-200 (SU-GCI) vacated the runway and was inspected by the emergency services.  All 211 passengers disembarked normally.

The Rolls Royce Trent 772 engine failure has caused a large hole in the cowl at the engine inlet up to fan section of the left hand engine.
