An 49-year-old easyJet co-pilot was handed a 12-month suspended prison sentence for drug abuse, he confessed taking ecstasy one day before his duty.
Listening to the phone calls from a drug network, the police noticed that in one of the talks a pilot was telling how difficult it was to land his aircraft at Paris Orly airport after taking the drugs.
The French pilot admitted that he previously used cocaine and marihuana, and accepted that what he did was “an unforgivable mistake“. He was handed 12-month suspended prison sentence by the Créteil Criminal Court and was banned from flying.
